Our grocer and his wife spent their half-holiday last week in Columbus visiting cousins, Mr. and Mrs. . W. Sanderson. On Thursday, Mr. Carl Boe of Kingston, on a business trip to Toronto and Peterbor- ough, had dinner with his mother, Mrs. Reta Boe. Other visitors the same evening were Mr. and Mrs. Geo Ferris and Mrs. Faye Dowson all of Port Perry. Mr. and Mrs. R. Scott spent Sunday with their son Bev. and his family at their cott- age at Balsam Lake. On Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. W. Keen, Brian Keen, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Standish and children were in Bolton visiting Mr. and Mrs. Adam Wallace. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Wana- maker were celebrating their 4th wedding anniversary this week-end. On Saturday with some friends they had spec- ial dinner, show etc. and on Sunday visited Mr. and Mrs. Ian Fraser of Willowdale. Grandpa and grandma Leroix did the baby sitting chores x. and remained over night. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hunter were guests at the Richard: son-Austin wedding on Satur- day night in Bobcaygeon. Another Saturday evening wedding involved Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Taylor of Scugog so Stephen was parked with the. Belairs then all hands paid a short visit to the Bry- ant cottage on Sunday even- --ing. Mrs. Alma Garlick and her sister, Mrs. Blanche Trische drove down from Toronto to the old home town on Sunday, but found many of their friends away here and there. They had a good visit however with for- mer neighbour, Mrs. M. Stone We suggest they come in time for church next time perhaps on Anniversary Sun- day. ha Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jordon and baby from Port Perry visited the Ellsworth Kenne- d's on Sunday. Mrs. Moon and Clifford had just one visitor this week-end Mr. Howard Billingham of Toronto. ¥ - The Port Perry High School Band (top picture) under the direction of L.P. Chellew will perform in the United Church Auditorium, Thursday, May 28. The concert named "World of Music" will also feature the choir from R.H. Cornish Public 1 Church. i along with several soloists. The choir will alsg [take part in a concert "Young Artist Series", the third presented by students of Marie Taylor this season, on Sunday, May 24, in the United local congregation a few years ago, Zion church has been closed except for a yearly anniversary. The 24th has always been their day so Sunday afternoon was the time of their annual re-union service. Our Mr. Bruce Carr accompanied by Mrs. Tobin provided special music this year, there were only about one- third as many people as a week ago and of the 9 babies baptized on Mother's Day only one was present, Ted Sturman. Dinner guests at the Roberts home on Fri- day were Mr, and Mrs. A. J. Mitchell and sons of Wayne, N. J. Mr. and Mrs. Roach and family were at their cottage for the long week-end. Mr. F. B. Johnston return- ed home from a visit with his daughter, Mrs. Jas. Torr- ens and family at Willowdale. Kenneth returned with his grandfather for the holiday week-end. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Harley Johnston and family and Mrs. Frank Johnston visited Mrs. C. C. Gilbert, wife of the late Rev. C. C. Gilbert at Albright Manor in Beamsville, Mrs. Reta Wilson and son Pavid of Oshawa visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dobson on | Lakefield was the week-end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Best and family. Mrs. F.
