The 'special speakér for the occasion' was the Rev. Dr. Mariano DiGangi the North American Director of. the Bible and Medical Missionary Fellowship. Dr. DiGangi is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church « and received his training at Brook- lyn College, New York, West- minister Theological Seminary and Presbyterian College of Montreal and has been hon- oured by Gordon - Conwell School of Theology with a Doctor of Divinity Degree. . He has an outstanding ministry in Canada and the United States and has held executive positions with' The Board of Evangelism and Social Action of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, Canadian Council of Churches and is at present President of the Evangelical Fellowship of 'Canada. Dr. DiGangi is the author of a number of books of Biblical exposition and "The Urban Crisis". i His address. dealt with Church Revival and Renewal and was followed by a lively discussion period. . FARMS WANTED L REALESTATE C10 -REALIOR 985-7373 Oshawa - Port Perry Road A bylaw, authorizing the Oshawa Suburban Road Com- mission to call a contract for the reconstruction of the Osh- awa-Port Perry County Road, was passed by. Ontario County at last week's session. The project, which involves a four-lane pavement with storm sewers curb and gutter, catchbasins, will be construct- ed between the north limit of Oshawaand Concession 5, East Whitby Township." It is proposed to call a con- tract for the whole project. However, only part of the work will be done and paid for this year out of current revenues. The remainder will be completed and paid for next year. The total cost of the project, including material, engineering, Land purchase and legal expenses will be $472,000. Of this amount $232,000 will not be paid until 1971. The. purchase of approx- imately' 400 acres of land] in Lots 6 and 7, Concession 13, Mara Township, from George C. Knight, for re- forestation purposes was also approved by council. The land will cost $22,000. A resolution. from the Counties of Prescott and Russ- ell calling on the provincial authorities to increase the amount the resident of a home for the aged may set aside for his burial expenses, from $500 to $1,000, was approved. The county's homes and the aged committee was given authority to discuss with the department of social and family services its survey relat- ing to the need for expanded or additional home facilities in the county. The following parts of unopened road allowances as more particularly described as follows all and singular that certain parcels or tracts of land and premises situate lying and being in the Township of Reach in the County and Province of Ontario and being composed of that part of the unopened original road allowance were particularly described as follows: Firstly: That part of the unopened original road allowance lying between Con- cessions ten and eleven bounded on the west by the easterly limit of the opened - road allowance between Lots 18 and 19 in the 11th concession and on the east by the westerly limit of an abandoned railway lands running through lot 21 in the said concessions. Secondly: That part of the unopened original road allowance lying between Con- cessions 9 and 10 bounded on the west by the easterly limit of the opened road allowance between lots 18 and 19 in the 10th concession and on the east by the westerly limit of an abandoned railway lands running through lot 20 in the said concessions. Thirdly: That part of the unopened original road allowance lying between Con- cessions 8 and 9 bounded on the west by the easterly limit of the Provincial high - way numbered 12 and on the east by the westerly limit of the opened road allowance between lots 18 and 19 in the 9th Concession. Therefore the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Reach enacts as follows: Whereas the Reeves and Council of the Corporation of the Township of Reach deems it in the public interest to close up the previously described portions of road. And whereas no person is deprived of ingress or egress to and from his or her land or place of residence.
