Eight teams from North Bendale, Oshawa, East Gwillim- bury, Willowdale, St. Catharines, Cobourg, Thornhill, and Port Perry competed for the two trophies. Jack Cook, Jr. presented the trophies to the winners on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce. At left to the captain of the champion Willowdale team, Joe Pasquale, at right to the captain of the consolation winners, St. Catharines, Pete Willowdale Captures C Of C Juvenile Trophy Nicholson. The following were recorded. Port Perry 5, North Bendale 1; East Gwillimbury 5, Oshawa 0; Willow- dale 1; St. Catharines 0; Cobourg 9; Thornhill 0. Second round: Port Perry 1; East Gwillimbury 0; Willowdale 9; Cobourg 3. Consolation play: North Bendale 6, Oshawa 0; St. Catharines 9; Thornhill 0. St. Catharines captured the trophy by defeating North Bendale 11 to 0. In the champ- ionship final Willowdale defeated the local 'boys 4 to 2 to walk away with the trophy. __'} played very well. * In the first game Flamin- go's defeated North Bendale 2-1 in 2 extra innings. Laurie Williams pitched the win "allowing 9 scattered hits. The winning run was scored when Ron Redman tripled and scored on Laurie Williams fly ball to left field. In the second game Sarnia defeated Port Perry 3-2. Ro- land 'Skinner pitched the 1st four innings for Flamingo's and after allowing 2 runs in the first inning, on a big home run blow settled down to pitch well.- Laurie Wil- liams took over -in the fifth inning. © Grant McLaughlin hit a home run for Port Perry. Annrene Tigers Winner Again On Sunday, July 5th Ann- rene Tigers won 25-20 over Port Perry Spartans. The Ti- gers were ahead throughout the game. The Spartans al- most tied it up in the sixth inning with the score 18-17. J. Connors hit 2 home runs for the Tigers. G. Warriner hit a homer for the Spartans. Pitcher for the Spartans, R. Manns had 6 walks and no strike outs, D. Muir tak- ing over in the 6th and Manns taking over again in the 7th. Ken Goreski had 1 walk and 4 strike outs. B.
