Pee- Wee's travelled to North York on Saturday to take part in the 15th annual Pee Wee Tournament. In the first game Simcoe Legion defeated Port Perry 3-0. Phil Wackett pitched the game for Port and pit- ched well. The Port boys were unable to get base hits with men on base. In the second game Tor- onto Amesbury were the op- position and Port Perry came out with an impressive win 80. Tom Olsen pitcher no hit ball for Port Perry while he helped his own cause with a grand slam home run. The third game saw St. Catharines and Port Perry hook-up in a good game in which Tom Olsen did not allow a hit. The final score was 4-1 for Port Perry. The only run was scored when a batter was hit by a pitched ball and advanced on pass balls. Port Perry had a big 3 run inning on solid hitting by Olsen, Nelson & Christie. The fourth game was the Consolation Final and Port Perry played off with Scar- boro Danforth Gardens. Scarboro came out the win- ners with a 13 - 5 victory. Onte again Tom Olsen start- ed on the mound but this time the Scarboro team got to Tom in the first inning. After a big 6 run third inn- ing Jamie Malcolm took over for Olsen and settled the team down but the damage had been done. The I.G.A. boys had a great day on Saturday in trying to regain this trophy which the team won in 1964 and 1965. Tom Olsen was no doubt the star of the day with his fine pitching and solid kit- ting. oC These boys open up their OASA Play-offs on Aug. 17 in Port Perry with Lindsay the opposition. The prevailing heat did not affect the calibre of the bowling which was shown by the high scores at the end of the tournament. First prize was won by an Oshawa team, skipped by Ev. The successful Lady Bowler was Aletha Trewin from Agin- | court winning over Alma Cox in the district finals. This being the first year for the Port Perry Club taking part in the Provincial Playdowns, they are to be commended for their first effort. Tigers Win Over Burketon Burketon's Verna's Variety "| were downed by Annrene Ti- gers 104. At the top of the 2nd inning, -Burketon was ahead 2-0. Annrene Tigers gained three runs when bases loaded and F. Allison, pit- cher for Burketon walked the batter, walking in for the '| Tigers was R. Taylor. K. Gor- eski hit a double bringing in 2 more runs. Burketon was held at 2 until the 7th and 8th inning when they gained 2 more runs. F.
