Several Junior Farmer members from Greenbank area joined with others from the country in a very enjoy- able week-end of camping at "The Pinery", a provincial park near Grand Bend on the shores of Lake Huron. Mrs. Marion Stairs visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Leask and John on Sunday. Mrs. Paul Studinski visited with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Neil Hunter one day last week and Tommy return- ed with her for a short holi- day in Hamilton. Mr. John Stone and Miss Karen Sonley were guests at the wedding of Brian Mount- joy and Judy Swain in Black- stock United Church on Sat- urday afternoon. Misses Debbie and Cathy McGee spent last week in Lindsay with their grand- mother Mrs. Beatrice McGee. Mr. and Mrs. William Stone, Grant and Peter visit- ed Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ross of Norwood on Sunday. We are glad to hear that the French University stud- ents who have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Graham while job-hunting in Canada have obtained positions in various places and will be contacting the Grahams be- fore 'returning to France in September. Hugh Graham who has been attending Uni- versity in Rouen, had spread the word that Greenbank was a very hospitable village and quite a number 'of students 'adopted the slogan "France to Greenbank", Local members of the Port Perry Historical Society re- mind us that the museum on Scugog Island will be clos- ing its doors on Sunday, Aug. 30 for this season. Of inter- est to many will be a demon- stration of Indian basket weaving on closing day. Miss Nan Van Waart of Amsterdam, Holland has been a guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Senior Citizens Sumer holidays will soon be over and back to school for the children, and all or- ganizations will continue with their regular meetings. The club will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, Sep- tember 9th at 2 p.m. = The bi-weekly euchres which take place all the year round are held at the Senior Citizens Hall, back of the Post Office, the next one will take place on Saturday, August 20th at 8 p.m. The president Mr. E. Another ex, Mrs. Marjorie Moon is sport- ing a cast on her knee just now. Mrs. Dane Coxworth was hostess at 'a baby shower for Mrs. Marilyn Beacock on Sat. at the Tobin home. Visitors with the Scotts during the past week: Mr. & Mrs. Doug Walsh and family and Mrs. Martha Parker of New Liskeard. Mr. Walsh is the principal of the New Liskeard high school. Mrs. Marjorie Payne of Toronto, Mr. Cliff Holt and Mr. Al Bailey of Toronto. . "Our village has lost the Cy Wilson family who have moved to Manchester and also Mr. and Mrs. John Wil. liamson and sons who are now living at Fingerboard. At the farm recently occu- pied by the Wilsons are Mr. and Mrs. Rusnell who came from the Fingerboard pro- perty.
