Honeydale Women's Inst. "Hold Monthly Meeting By Mabel Cawker The December meeting under the leadership of Mrs. C. DeYonge, convener of Historical research and Current Events was held in the Municipal Hall with a "fair attendance. ) The President, Mrs. Thos. Bell chaired the meeting and extended a warm friendly welcome to all. A special welcome was given to Bonnie Gerrow from Scugog Island. After the opening preliminaries were carried out, the Secy'y Mrs. Stan Ploughman read the correspondance and several items of business were dealt with. A motion was made to send- the usual amount of money and a Christmas gift for retarded children in Orillia; Arrangements were made to send Christmas cards to former members who have moved away. Miss Audrey Kent offered her services for the sending of cards. Baskets of cheer for the shut-ins will be distributed as usual. Committee - Mrs. Maxwell Bassant and Mrs. Fred Warren. A letter was read from the newly elected president of - WES PLUMBING - Central Ontario Area, Mrs. Irwin Maltby, regarding a luncheon Cloth Competition for the 75th Anniversary Year of the Federated Women's Institutes of On- tario, in 1972, which is also the 70th Anniversary of Central Ontario Area. The Luncheon Cloth must be - approximately 45' up to 54" square, and is to be made of cotton or -linen, - must be needlework (not painted) and the W. I. Crest (or crests) must appear on the cloth. Edge is optional - not to be judged. Any member may enter one cloth. The Luncheon Cloths will be judged at District level in May and the winning cloth to be forwarded to area sec'y -not later than July 1st.
