BLACK -- Manchester United Church was the setting of a lovely wedding on March 18, 1972 at 4:00 p.m. The bride Rose Marie Black, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Black, Manchester, exchanged vows with Mr. John Clifton McIntyre, son of Mrs. Iva McIntyre, Manilla. Rever- and Preston Brown .offici- ated at the ceremony with Miss Sheila-Williams provid--- ing the wedding music. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length, long sleeved gown of _white lace with_a shoulder length veil. She carried a bouquet of pink sweetheart roses. The sister of the bride Mrs Glora York was the matron of honour, and was dressed in a turquoise. floor-length gown with matching head- piece. The bridesmaids were Miss Jean Black, sister of the bride, dressed in a blue floor-length gown and, Mrs. Patricia Green of Bethany, dressed in pink floor length gown. They both wore mat- ching headpieces and all four girls carried bouquets of nose gays sprayed to match their gown. The flower girl was Miss Shelley McIntyre, neice of the groom, dressed in a yellow floor-length gown. : The groom was attended by his best man Bill Mooney of Mount Albert and ushers - Norman Black, brother of the. bride and Ron McIntyre, brother of the groom. They were similarily attired in McINTYRE black tuxedos and wore white; carnations. The brides mother wore a blue plaid suit and a corsage of white mums. The grooms mother was attired in a street length mauve dress with matching flowers in her hair, and a corsage of yellow mums. The reception was held at Manchester United Church Gospel rally 'inSunderland Rev. Robert D. Guthrie will. complete four years ministry as pastor of Sun- derland Baptist Church in April. The anniversary cele- bration will be observed. on Sunday, April 9th, at 3 p.m. with a great gospel rally to be held in the Township Hall Auditorium,-Sunderland. Three well known and talented groups of singers from Toronto will be present to sing. The Administrator added that since last April the services of a planning discharge nurse have indi- cated how this need might also be met on a permanent basis. Statistics for 1971 indicate an increase of 244 admis- sions over 1969 figures, and this resulted in 2,521 more patient-days in 1971 than in 1969. In 1971, there were 67 full-time and 20 part-time employees at the hospital. These figures include 40 full-time and 16 part-time personnel in the Nursing Unit. The 1971 Auditor's Report .shows total current assets as' of December 31 to be $161,082, and increase from. .$135,674 in 1970. Net loss for the year 1971 was $8,571, down from the 1970 figure of $9,151. Operating expenses in 1971 were $729,718, an increase over the 1970 figure of $625.786. . i.
