20--PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, April 12, 1972 don and their daughter So- phia have returned from England to take up resi. dence in Port Perry again. * LJ * * Mr, and Mrs. Gerald Breen spent the past week- end at the Holiday Inn, Lon- don, Ontario, as honoured guests on Saturday evening of the Ontario Automobile Association's P.M.A. Select Club Banquet held at the Inn. Mr. Breen has receiv- ed 8 gold seals for selling, this made him eligible to attend the banquet and he was one of the three dele- gates for the Association from Oshawa area. On Sun- day they had dinner . with Mrs. Breen's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Donohue and family of London be fore returning home. * * * The model contest (aero- planes, cars, trucks, etc.) sponsored by the 1001 Variety winners are; in the Juniors, Wayne Smith, Shanon Williams, and Bruce Finn. In the Seniors they were Clive Boyd, Mike Short and Larry Flieler. * * * The Maple Syrup Festi- val sponsored by the Port Perry L.O.L. held last Sat- urday and Sunday was a decided success. For those ~ who were unable to attend last week, they are holding it again this Sunday, April 16th. * * * Callers at the Sleep home in Seagrave to celebrate with Mrs. Arthur Sleep her "ninety-fifth birthday were: Mr. Clarence O'Neil, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Wilson, Mr. & 40 take part. in gym night Last Saturday night, Apr. 8, Jam held its first gymn night. © About 40 young people gathered at Port Perry High School for a night of fun and 'games. About 18 boys started by playing basketball while the balance played volley- ball. After an hour, they changed games. After a short business meeting, everyone went back to the game of their choice, followed by the re- gular devotional period. Next Saturday at 8:00 p.m. we are going skating at Port Perry Arena, provid- ing ice is still in, After skating all to return to St. John's for coffee and cookies. Apart from the interesting weekly meetings the group is planning an overnight bus trip and a weekend camp out in the near fut- ure. Are you a teen? Would you like to belong to a group like this and share the fun and fellowship with the rest of us. We're an undenominational teen group who get together each Saturday night for' a full evening of fun and en- joyment. Everyone in their teens is welcome to join us next Saturday night at the skating party.
