Some 40 couples participated and enjoyed an excellent meal and danced to the music of Geordie Beare and his Music Makers. During the evening, perfect attendance pins and other honours were presented to the members. Cec King, received his pin for 27 years perfect attendance and in addition he was presented with the Lions International Award "The Old Monarch' for 25 years perfect attendance and the "Quarter Century Club" for being a member of a Lions Club for at least 25 years. Also receiving the last award were three other members, Don Crozier, Stan Bruton and Ray Cook. Lion president Arnold Roach is presenting Mr. King wi in the above picture. Many from this area at- tended decorative services at Utica on Sunday. Mr. Wilbur is to be congratulated on the beautiful condition of the three cemetaries. This community was shocked to hear of the sud- den passing of Mrs. Dorothy Mulholland. Sympathy goes out to the bereaved ones. Remember! everyone is welcome. The hours are 2-4 p.m. daily with a big event featured for Friday evening at 7 p.m. We were happy to have a group from Port Perry Bap- tist Church come and take the service on Tuesday, June 6th. We sang hymns and choruses by the use of a which made seeing the words much easier. Many of the choruses were not familiar to the folks 'at the Community Home, but they soon picked them up. Two of the men, Merle Elford and Lloyd Peacock gave testimony to God's love and concern for them. Pas- tor Payne pointed out that this day was the Anniversary of D. Day -- a day of Deliverance from Hitler's clutches. Using Romans, Chapter 1, he brought to our attention the Gospel of God, the Son of God, Beloved of God, revealing the Power of God which can deliver us from the judgement of God. The pragramme on "Safe- ty" was in charge of Mrs. Huggins, A reading was given by Mrs. K, Samells on 'Fire Hazards in the Home', another by Mrs, H. Mec- Laughlin on "Electrical Dangers". Mrs, Percy Van- Camp; spoke on "Poisoning" and Mrs. Gladys Thompson on "Pesticides and Insecti- cides". All- enjoyed a contest by Mrs. Percy VanCamp. Meeting closed by singing "0 Canada". A social time was enjoyed over a dainty lunch served by Mrs. Hug- gins and her group.
