We were all shocked to learn of the passing of Miss Edna Pridham in Nigeria, Africa. A very close friend of Miss Ruby Wilson, Edna had been in Nigeria as a nursing missionary for 27 years, Mrs. Elmer Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson, Mr. J. P. Wilson attended the last rites at Stayner. Mrs. Gordon Prentice & Mrs, Murray Prentice at- tended a shower in Toronto one evening last week for Miss Ruth Noble. Roll was called with an attendance of 75, The theme for the meeting was "Builders of the Church". The afternoon ses- sionopened at 2 p.m, with the call to worship and Constitut- ion of the Presbyterial a with prayer by the President, Mrs. H., Windrem. A solo "Building for Etern- ity" was beautifully sung by Mrs. Hewitt of Gamebridge. She was accompanied at the piano by Mrs. H. Furniss. Mrs. Furniss, President of Gamebridge W.M.S. conv- eyed warm words of welcome to the Presbyterial. She stated that Gamebridge W.M.S. is85years old and the Church 104 years. It was conducted by Mrs. June Nesbitt and Mrs. C. Hargreave. The new Synodical Presi- dent is Mrs. Shepherd of Guelph Presbyterial. Miss Lois Powrie then presented '""A survey of Lindsay Presbyterial". Owing to the changes in Districts, Miss Dorothy Kel- ler, 'who has been in the western provinces will be assigned to our District and Miss Powrie is being trans- ferred to Hamilton. Miss Powrie mentioned that our new "Book of Praise" will be coming off the press in Septembner. She also stated that a new Congregational Board is Free PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, July 5,1972 -- 7 being formed and there will be one representative from every Congregation. A full Executive meeting of the Presbyterial will be held in Bobcaygeon, probably in early October. Many useful articles des- ignated for Evangel Hall were displayed by the Leask- dale W.M.S. The Literature secretary, Mrs. Wilson, gave a very interesting account of her books and invited the ladies to visit her display table. Mrs. Maclnnes closed the Session with prayer and also said Grace before the even- ing meal, A very delcious dinner was served by the Gamebridge ladies. The Evening Session at 7 p.m. was again constituted with prayer by the President. The worship service was very ably conducted by Mrs. W. Fairley and Miss M. Demille of Fenelon Falls, W.M.S. Lindsay Presbyterial They based their service on the story of Lydia, the se)ler of purple. Mrs. C.V. Vinden, guest speaker for the evening was introduced by Mrs. Phil Francis, Mrs. Vinden, who, with her husband and family spent ten years in Africa" displayed many interesting articles brought from there. She also gave a very interesting and impressive narrative on the work of the two Medical missionaries, Dr. Algy Smith and Dr. Sharpe. An anthem "We would be building" was sung by 6 ladies from Beaverton W.M.S. They were accom- panied at the pianoby Mrs. C. Veale. Mrs. J. Mackadyen ex- pressed thanks to Mrs. Vin- den and everyone who helped to make the programme worthwhile, Rev. W.
