8 - PORT PERRY STAR ~ Wednesday, July 26, 1972 BEACOCK -- ALLISON WEDDING A pretty summer wedding took place in Prince Albert United Church, Saturday, - July 8 at three o'clock. The chancel area was enhanced with baskets of yellow and white shasti - daisies and greenery. Owing to the sudden be- reavement in the family of the. local minister Rev, M. Réeves. A former well known minister Reverend E. S. Linstead consented to officiate at the double-ring ceremony when he united in holy bonds of marriage Judy Helen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Allison, Oshawa and John Bryan youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Beacock of Prince Albert. The church organist Mrs. Bruce Snelgrove ably played the traditional wedding mu- sic accompanying the soloist Mr. Harry Goulding who capably sang "The Wedding Prayer" preceding the cere- mony, and rendered the familiar number, "I be- lieve" during the singing of the register. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father attired in a floor-length gown of baby faille with Venise ribbon pull-thru and ruffle and lace hem-line. Her head-dress consisted of lacy petals accented by tiny seed pearl clusters held by a " * bouffant veil. She also wore a family heirloom, her grand- mother's gold locket and carried a sheaf of pink baby-roses, white carnations toucked off with fern. All three wore similar gowns as that of the bride only embroide- red in green nylon, ruffle bottom highlighted by wrist length lantern sleeves. All attendants carried yel- low shanti daisies dotted with tiny red stephanotis and fern. The oldest brother, Mr. Donald Beacock supported the groomsman. The ushers included the brides only brother Mr. Gary Allison and Mr. Grant Beacock elder brother of the groom. Denise Dusty visited Jenn- ifer Sweetman in Port Perry last week. On Sunday the Hunter- Heron Annual Picnic was held at Wellsprings Park. Enjoying the occasion were Miss Hazel Gregg of Port Perry and Miss Evelyn Croxall of Brooklin. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wood- yard of Orono visited one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. Mel McGee. Mr. and Mrs. John Kron- ister Jr. with their sons, Ralph and Frankie flew to . Europe in late June to spent six weeks in Austria and Germany touring and visit- ing relatives. Miss Ray Godfrey has returned from five weeks in Europe to spend the re- mainder of the summer at Belleview Farm. Mr. W. McCreedy spent the weekend at Bancroft, Mr. and Mrs. Harold How- sam are holidaying on the 'east coast. Mr. and Mrs. Antonius Minten entertained as house guests Mr. Minten's sister, Mrs. Hendricks and her son Tony who were on a visit from Holland. : The annual Kerry Picnic was held at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Raymond Kerry. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Leask of Uxbridge and Mrs, Leask of 'Myrtle visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Leask recently. Mr. and Mrs. John Mean- well of Tore Bay, Newfound- land were guests over the past weekend of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Graham, Mr. and Mrs. Fleete Beare visited 'Mrs. John Croxall, Toronto, on Saturday to help her celebrate her ninety-first birthday.
