No contract settlement Unce again this week, attempts made by repre- sentatives of the Provincial Office of the Ontario Secon- dary School Teachers' Fed- eration and the Ontario School Trustees' Council have failed to produce a contract settlement for Ont- ario = County's Secondary School teachers. Their pre- sent contract expired at midnight on August 31. Therefore, it is with regret that OSSTF District 17 must announce that, commencing on the first day of school, the Secondary School teachers of Ontarfo County will insti- tute a programme of with- drawal of voluntary ser- vices. This course of action was approved by 96 percent of teachers in a vote taken in June, and it will continue in force until a tentative settle- ment has been arrived at, or until the County Board of Education agrees to submit the dispute to binding arbit- ration. of Uxbridge at Leaskdale on Con. 7.
