Sixty lady golfers at Sunny Brae On Tuesday, August 29, the Ladies Golf League at Sunny Brae Golf Club were host to the Lindsay Ladies Golf League. Over sixty golfers participated in the tourna- ment enjoyed refreshments and luncheon. Many good scores were turned in with the prize going: to Peggy Morrison, Lindsay for low gross, with Vi Pilkey, Oshawa as runner up. Elva Brain, Prince Albert for low net with Jeanne Goode as runner up. Least strokes went to Doris Clark of Oshawa, most strokes to Freida Cockrane. Hidden hole went to Shirley Gleason and the hidden score to Joyce Emmerson. The most honest golfer was Elaine Hamett . . On behalf of the Lindsay Club, Penny Arril thanked the Port Perry Club for the most enjoyable day. National Kin Pierre. Blanchard, 37 of Montreal, was elected 52nd National President of The Association of Kinsmen Clubs during the organiza- tion's annual convention held in Calgary, Alberta. (Bill) Watson of Fonthill, Ontario as President and official spokesman for the 15,000 , member Canadian young men's service organ- ization. Much of the Kins- men's chief executive's time will be spent travelling throughout the eight districts and meeting leaders of the over 450 Kinsmen clubs across Canada. A ten-year Kinsmen vet- eran, Blanchard served his local area as club President, Zone Deputy Governor, and Governor of district six, which comprises Quebec and part of Eastern Ontario. He served the National Association as Vice Presi- dent this past year. As National Vice President, he established, through studies : and surveys and a heavy schedule of public speaking, a direct communications with Kinsmen members and community leaders across Canada in order to acquaint himself with community pro- blems and needs.
