Roberts attended a shower in Ajax, Friday evening in honour of Miss Wendy Hitchen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.D. Hitchens, Oshawa. Wendy - 1s being married October 6, 1972 at Kedron United Church. On Wednesday evening, September 6th, the com- munity ~~ honoured , Mrs. Maude Crosier at a card party in the Community Hall. Arnold Roach . presented Mrs. Crosier with a table and chairs and everyone enjoyed a good lunch, Sorry Jo Bain was unable to be present. Wish her much happiness in her new home. Unit Creative block printing meetings start September f 3 ETH RRE RL OS ZR Ae HA VI as a4 Sea Cadets Mon.Sept.18 September is the month when organizations .in the Village resume activities and a relatively new one is the Port Perry Branch'of the Navy League .of Canada. The Sea. Cadets (boys between the ages of 13 to 19) 2G will have their first meeting on Monday, September 18, in the old Catholic Church at 7 p.m. The Sea Cadet Corps has been named R.C.S.C.C. "'Scugog" and the following officers are in charge: Ed Olliffe, commanding officer; Wm. McArtney, executive: officer; Fred Reyner, train- ing officer; Sandra Skelton, supply officer; Peter Craw- ford, divisional officer; Dr. R. C. Allin, medical officer. . Some of the activities are boating, seamanship, marksmanship, first aid, navigation and many other subjects relating to the navy. A sports night is planned for every Wednesday and the activities -will-include base- ball, football, basketball, hockey, etc. Like any other organiza- tion the Sea Cadet Corp will need support, financially as well as active participation by parents and 'interested persons.
