Eighteen members . and friends were present. The president, Mrs. Rout- ley chaired the meeting. The meeting was opened by singing "I am Thine, O Lord". We were accom- panied by Mrs. E. Heron on her melodica. The scripture reading from meditation was titled "Overcoming the Per- ils of Daily Routine". Mrs. T. . Knight led us in prayer. Mrs. Routley read a letter which had been received from Joan Mellor, who is at present taking language study in France. The offer- ing was received. Reports of the visiting committes were given. Our treasurer Mrs. Wm. Gardner gaye us a short report. Mrs. Wm. Davis was in charge of the programme. Mrs. E. Heron favoured us with a solo titled "The "Lonesome Valley". Mrs. Davis introduced our speaker, Mrs. Jenny John- ston from Glen Major. Mrs. Johnston gave us a very enlightening talk on "Mary and Martha'. As a token of our appreciation, Mrs. Davis then presented Mrs. John- ston with a dried flower arrangement. We concluded the meeting with the singing of 'More Love to Thee". Miss Chrissie Simpson closed with prayer. Refreshments were served by the lunch committee and a social half hour enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Ashton spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Purdy, Orangeville, recently. The auction and bake sale proved to be a great success last Saturday, at the Com- munity Centre. He indicates that 'the conse- quent rise in the budgetary deficit and the level of net debt is still well within the province's means".
