Will somebody please explain. Last week we " mentioned that several of our ladies had attended this function in Cambridge St. Church, Lindsay. Apparently each U.C.W. group was invited to make a display illustrating some aspect of church work. Greenbank charge was represented by the Seagrave and Pinedale ladies. Our members depic- ted hospital work and help for the aged and shut-ins. Pine- dale had Sr. citizens, new- comers and community pro- jects for their displays. And what do you know? They won 1st prize (Judges choice award(..It would be nice if they would do it again for the home folks. Justhow long does it take to Redman' S Fish & Chips CLOSING build a small bridge? 12th concession still bears the "Bridge Out' sign after all these weeks. The mail man could tell you how long it is. There is some stirring around down at the south end this week. If current rumours can be believed, Mrs. Phyllis Wray and her son Bill from Toronto will soon be again occupying the Wray farm. A little to the south on the main road, we find Mr. and Mrs. S. Modill and their 2 sons installed in their new home. We welcome all these people. Bert Wanamaker is slowly recovering and strolls down to the store but isn't really able to work yet. Bernard Standish is on the mend too and arrived home on Monday. Mr. Otto has returned to Toronto as an a out-patient of the hospital. Mrs. Reta Boe has re- turned from the west but is getting ready to take off again. We weren't allowed to report Bill Barr away to Europe on a buying trip but heishomeagainnowsoit can be told. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Dowson attended Bobcaygeon Fair on Saturday and stayed the weekend with their relatives Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Dave New- ham and small daughter of Omenee made their regular visit to Mr. and Mrs. Venner this week. Mrs. Gladys Short has turned up again after a summer in the west and the Clifford Short family had a little private 25th wedding anniversary in Peterborough on Sunday. Another family, the Cook- sons had everybody at home on Sunday. They were cele- brating a belated anniver- sary as well as some birthdays. The Lawrence Nicholls' and Ken Shorts attended the plowing match in Perth county on Saturday and we think they must have stayed over too. We must not forget Bill Wanamaker - and . Sharon Sweetman. They stood around in the rain in Toronto Prince Albert News During worship on Sunday our minister Rev. M. Reeves presided over the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper assisted by elders Messers. H. Hod- gins, B. Snelgrove, G, Hun- ter, L. Beacock. Our minister also con- ducted over a ceremony of Confirmation when Mrs. Roy A. "Dorothy" Hope and Miss Shelley Olsen joined the church membership roll. Mr. + B. Snelgrove on behalf of the congregation extended a welcome to them. Jeffrey and John and other relatives. - Mr. and Mrs. Les Beacock were Saturday evening din ner company with Mr. and Mrs. L. Devitt, Osahwa. Mr. and Mrs. J. Lake and family, Oakwood were visit- ing Mr. and Mrs. E. Martyn. Mr. and Mrs. Hargrave and family, Mr. Hargrave, Sr. of Willowdale visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Graham, Please get in touch with Rev. Mr. Bruce Wilson has left for Clint, Michigan, where he will be studying engineering at the General Motors Insti- tute for six weeks. Sunday School this Sunday at 11:30, kids.
