Lawn Bowling Club held in the Anglican Church Parish 'Hall last Saturday, two long time and faithful members of the club Art Cox and Roy Honey were hon- oured by being made life members. At the same meeting, Mr. Neil Phadden was elected president and Harry DeShane Vice Presi- dent. Mrs. Marian Boynton of 96 John Street, Port Perry has just returned from a trip to Winnipeg where she visited her two younger sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Frank God- ley spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Martene, Seaforth, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Mountjoy of Saskatchewan were visitors last week with - their cousins Mr. and Mrs. George Samells and also spent some time with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Plougman. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Crosier, Tim, Jonathon and Jeremy of Ottawa were weekend guests with his sister Mrs. George Samells and Mr. Samells over the weekend. Mrs. June Symes, Presi- dent and Mrs. Wanda Dur- ham, secretary of Branch 419, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary flew to Windsor to attend the 35th Biennial Convention at the Cleary Auditorium from September 18th to the 20th. Guides begin activities Guiding has resumed in Port Perry with many new faces. A hearty welcome to all those eager girls awaiting the challenge of Guiding. Several leaders have re- signed after many devoted years as volunteer Guiders. Thanks and best wishes for their future, go with these people. Their vacancies have been capably filled. The Brownies and Guides are pleased to announce the addition of their senior sisters in the movement, the Rangers. The 1st. Port Perry Ranger Company has re- formed under Guider, Mrs. M.A. Lamb. Sunday, September 24th. Guides, Brownies, and Gui- ders paraded from the Scott Hall to the Presbyterian Church where they joined with the congregation in morning worship.
