Callers at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Don Asling on Sunday and Monday were from Montreal, London, In- dia, Eden and Ajax. Mr. Allen Lyons and Miss Connie Smith were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Rob Winters of Scarborough on Sunday evening. it is a lovely "thought when a bride and groom ° entertain. as first guests their usher and a bridesmaid. Mr. and Mrs, Herman Kerry, Mr. Elwood Tripp and Mrs. Ruby Geer attended Norwood Fair on Saturday, where Mr. Kerry judged the Draft horses. Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Stear- man of Belleville were week-end guests at Arnold Kerry home. Bethesda W.I. did very well with their booth at Uxbridge Fair. Unfortunately, about half of us were unable to help much due to illness. om News Mrs. W. Asli is in Uxbridge hospital for a time for therapy. Mr. Kenneth Jeffery of Parry Sound was with his brother. Gordon for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs, Chas Lyons. and children were with Mrs. Lyons and family on Satur- day and Mrs. Lloyd Allen of Valentyne and their family visited there on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Wag- ner, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Catherwood and Brian were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ashton on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs, Ashton have been so pleased to see and hear from so many friends since their accident. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Geer had their family home on Sunday for Thanksgiving dinner also celebrated a 71st birthday for Mrs. Geer's uncle, Mr. Arthur Miller and a first birthday for Chris their little grandson. 'Mr, and Mrs. Emer Wil- son, son Douglas and Miss Beth Evans attended the Lee - Craig wedding in Toronto, Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thanksgiving unwelcome; but, since their ancient patterns are impossible as a way of life in a sea of technology, they must move in that direction. Some of them have made splendid strides. Those who speak for their people are strikingly perceptive and articulate. But integration is impossible without acceptance and a respect for their potential, and communication of this respect to individual Indian people. Few of us have much to do with programs and strategies, but fair and friendly attitudes--the key to good inter-relationships--are the province of everyone. We are all part of the human condition. What happened to the scouts who have collected our paper for years? We are still waiting. A job well done by these four Port Perry youngsters has added $82.10 to some $500,000 collected for the Society for Crippled Children during a 48-hour telethon at CFTO-TV's studios in Toronto. Seen, from left to right, are Ralph and Robert Shaw, and Greg and Jeff Kroonenberg, who collected the money from people on Port Perry streets between 10a.m. and 2p.m. Thanksgiving Day. They were then driven tothe studios by Bruce Shaw a short time before the telethon wound up at p.m. The telethon featured many showbusiness personalities, including Paul Anka, which the boys met after delivering their contributions in a plastic container.
