PERRY STAR Wednesday, Nov. 8, 1972 OGG 5 ¢ ) A] Perhaps the most amazing and popular event during the Commence- ment exercises Friday night at the High School was the presentation of a secondary school graduation diploma to Mrs. Wm. Barr, Seagrave. When her name was called, her classmates rose in unison and gave her a standing ovation. 20 years ago, Mrs. Barr completed her grade 12 in Toronto and after raising a family she decided fo make the effort of adding grade 13 to her school career. She joined the class of young students last year and although a bit uneasy on both sides to start with, she was soon accepted by the younger set and became a great friend of them all: During the presentation ceremony, who should walk on the stage, but her mother, Mrs. Peter Steffin of Edmonton, Alberta carrying a beautiful bouquet for her daughter. This was a complete surprise to the whole family, except for her son, the "instigator' of it all. Mrs. Barr gives her husband and family a big share of her success. "Without their wholehearted co- -operation, and support | would never have made it,"" she told the Star. With his wife in the picture is husband Wm. Barr and her mother, Mrs. Steffin.
