The happy bride and. groom received many lovly miscellaneous gifts from their many friends and relatives that were present. Among those who have left are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Malcolm, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Marlow, and the Arthur Bailey's. Mr. and Mrs. Fallis called on her sister Mrs. J.A. Johnston enroute to Florida on Monday. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Walt Larmer brought home Miss Edna Larmer who had spent some time with her brother and his wife. Their many friends will be pleased. to know that Mrs. Larmer is able to return home after a lengthy stay in Peterborough Hospital following a car accident. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Brad- burn and Donald accom- panied by Mrs. Ray Brad- burn, Betty and Ronald were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Al Aston in Don Mills. On Sunday morning a fine congregation attended the anniversary services of Blackstock United Church. Special music was provided by our Junior and Sepior Choirs combined and a lovely solo by Gail Malcolm. The guest speaker was Rev. W. Joseph Price, B.A., B.D, S.T.M. executive secretary of Bay of Quinte Conference delivered a fine sermon on "Measuring God's Love'. Many of our local young people who are away to University spent the week- end at their homes in order to attend the Commence- ment Exercises of C.H.S. on Saturday evening. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Wilbert Werry on the passing of her sister Mrs. Iva Seeney of Peterborough dur- ing the week. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Werry and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Werry attended the funeral on Friday after- noon held at Comstock Funeral Chapel. Neil Werry acted as one of the pall- bearers. On Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. Mossom Minaker and Miss Mildred Hubert of . Lochlin were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Archer. These three ladies were Millard: News girlhood trienas and so enjoyed their visit so very much. On Sunday:Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Archer ac- companied Mr. and Mrs, Elmer Archer of Whitby to visit Mrs. Archer's sister Mrs. Frank Cook at Beaver- ton. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Toms were Mr. Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Taylor, Enniskillen, Mrs. Courtney Graham and Miss Cheryl Graham. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kelly and girls were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Kelly, Bobcaygeon. Hallowe'en on Tuesday night was a pleasant affair with literally hundreds of little spooks and goblins roamed our streets and roads collecting their bags of "goodies". Most pranks were of the amusing and harmless variety and indeed our young people must be congratulated for such fine conduct. We are indeed proud of you! Mr. John Preston, however, returned from the Port Perry Hospital and is feeling much better. Big event of the week was the celebration of Hallo- we'en when the residents and staff went "all our" to entertain the children who called. The Nursing Home was gaily decorated and all kinds of "treats" were available. Altogether about 150 children partook of the "goodies" handed out. They had a wonderful time. A very good attendance was present at the weekly bingo held on Thursday evening. The prizes were donated by the Nurshing Home and were won by Mrs, Balgue (2), Wentworth Wat- son, Mrs. Mary Peters (a visitor) and Mrs, Marge Letcher. Father Paul Vernooey of the Church of the Immacu- late Conception once again visited the Home and gave Holy Communion to the Catholic residents. The residents had many visitors during the week who took them out for dinner or supper. These included Edna Pearcey, Violet Edwards, Edgar Butts, Shaw. Hamil- ton, James Bell, Grant Christie, Herman Abbot, Went. Watson and John Blake.
