Twenty youngsters, from the ages of six to sixteey, were enrolled in this course, and with the assist of John Brown, former physiothera- pist at the Oshawa Hospital, learned special breathing exercises and had a chance to enjoy the facilities of the swimming pool. Another similar course is in the offing for the new year, in Uxbridge, and with the tremendous success of the Oshawa programme, the second such project should be well attended. This project was one of the many business items on the November agenda of the Management Committee of the Ontario County TB-RD Association's monthly meet- ing, held last week at Adelaide House, Oshawa. Association President, Mrs. Ross Shier of Sunderland chaired the meeting. A highly effective refres- her course in respiratory diseases for 275 nurses was held at The Holiday Inn, Oshawa, recently, when . LETTERS rome EDITOR 2 373 Ninth Line Oakville, 'November 16, 1972. Dear Editor, Pollution Probe Oakville has asked. for and obtained a resolution from the Oakville Town Council requesting that the Province of Ontario ban the sale of disposable soft drink containers. This resolution will be sent to all Ontario municipalities in towns of population over 100,000 far their endorsement before going to Queens Park. We had hoped that it would be sent to all municipalities but, our council limited it to those of population over 100,000 because of a heavy work-load and expense. However, if you and the citizens of your town could persuade your own council to send a similar resolution to the Provincial Government, it would reinforce our effort and increase the likelihood of a ban on soft drink contain- ers actually being imposed. We hope that any interes- ted people will make their ~ views known to their council QO or to our group. Yours truly, Douglas H. Harding, M.D. President, Pollution Probe Oakville 373 Ninth Line, Oakville.
