And so he is on Saturday, December 9 in full regalia drawn by those prancing reindeer. He'll join the parade at the High School just before it starts down Queen Street at 2 p.m. sharp. Gerry Nelson is again pa- rade marshal and asks the co-operation of all partici- pants, and to meet at the High School in plenty of time before the parade starts moving. Five bands will participate and give the extra touch of festivity the season de- mands. Two bands are coming from Brampton, the Brampton Senators and the Brampton Clown Band, from Markham, the Collegiate Band, from Toronto a Boys' Band under the direction of a local person, Danny Reesor and from Uxbridge, the Legion Pipe Band. Some 15 to 20 floats are expected to take part this year and three prizes will be awarded to winners of var- ious categories. R. No 2, Janetville, passed away on November 19, 1972 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Peter borough. He was in his 75th year. Born and educated in Minden, he was the son of the late William George Archer and Emma Hobden. Mr. Archer had previously re- sided in this locality for thirty years, having pre- viously lived in Minden, Blackstock, and Nestleton. He was a member of the United Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Mae Williamson, one son Donald William Elmo Archer of R. R. No. 2, Janetville and two _ granddaughters, :Cathy and Karen Archer. Other surviving relatives are two brothers, Wilbert of Blackstock, Alfred (Ted) E. Archer of Janetville and one sister, Rose Stevens of Stouffville. One brother Vance and three sisters Myrtle, Violet and Inice are predeceased. The funeral was held on November 2 at 2 p.m. from McDermott-Panabaker Funeral Chapel, Port Perry with interment at Union Cemetery, Cadmus. Rev. Gerald Hoffstett conducted the service. The pallbearers, all nep- hews were Melville Rob- erston, Elmer Archer, Jerry Stevens, Douglas and Tho- mas Williamson and Edward Davies. Obituary NURSIN There were a few changes in the residents at the Home in the week just ended. John Doupe returned after a couple of months stay in the Port Perry Hospital while Mrs. "Mama" Genereski transferred to the Hillsdale Manor in Oshawa. Went- worth Watson was dis- charged and returned to his home in Port Perry. " Two of the residents are to be congratulated on birth- days during the week. Mr. Allan Cryderman celebrated his 65th birthday on Nov- ember 25th and Mrs. Nellie Coyle was 88 years old on November 29th. Mrs. Coyle's daughters and grandaughter were on hand in the Lounge to convey best wishes. A huge birthday cake featured the event. Mrs. Marlow is getting around these days. A few Sundays ago she went out with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Marlow and was their guest for supper at the Bon Fire Restaurant in Lindsay. Last Sunday she was a supper guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Marlow in Cae- sarea Tuesday evening Rev. Our thanks are extended to Mrs. John Ballard for the generous supply of Bingo prizes she purchased for us. Also many thanks to the anonymous donor of two large boxes of peppermint patties. These will be tho- roughly enjoyed by the residents. Thursday's Bingo was the most successful so far. We had a large attendance and the prizes were won by (Mrs. (Grandma) Balque, Minche Phoenix, Mrs. Marlow, Mrs. Letcher, Annie Mackey, Shaw Hamilton (2) and Russ Brown. Fridav morning was the first day in December and Rev. Paul Vernooey of the Immaculate Conception Church visited the Home and gave Cbmmunion to the Catholic residents. Senior Citizens Plans were made to enter cars in the Santa Parade. Final arrangements were made fo take a bustrip to Toronto to see "The Great Waltz". Members of the town council attended and Mr. Jackman enlightened us on the "New Recreation Cen- tre' being erected at the waterfront. The Senior Citizens voted to stay in their present location. Dr. Cohoon and Mr. Kenny also spoke on the location of the Senior Citizens Housing. Mr. Knox of the Ontario Housing showed plans and pictures. KEN P.
