- LU ion RAT. pra Celebrate 50th Anniversary A party to celebrate the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Elwood Victor Cook and the former Maude Adelaide (Mabel) Trott was held on Saturday, November 25th at Southmead Park. Mr. and Mrs. Cook were married on November 25th, 1922 by the Rev.-de Pencier at St. Georges Anglican Church. The late Mr. and Mrs. Horace Ward were their attendants. The re- ception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wilson. The couple have 2 chil- dren, Jack and Mrs. William Hurst (June), nine grand- children and 2 great grand- sons. The oldest grandson Allan Cook presented his grand- parents with a gold tray, a sum of money and a plaque from the Ontario govern- ment. Sandra Cook the youngest grandchild kept the guest book. Dancing was enjoyed fol- lowed by a buffet supper. The couple received many cards and telegrams from Governor General Michener, Alex Carruthers M.P.P., Pierre Trudeau, William Davis. Public School Curling Mr. Hogg, the principal of R.H. Cornish Public School commented on the turnout for the curling. He is pleased that the parents, teachers and students work so well together. Marquis for Sunderland opened the scoring in the third period before Bill. Then on Friday night they leave for Mooretown where they compete in the Mooretown Juvenile Tournament. The team will play two games on Saturday and hopefully one on Sunday.
