20 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Jan. 10th, 1973 Lt. S. David Murray re- ported to the C.F. Base in Chiliwack, B.C: on January 2nd, David is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Murray, Port Perry. The person's name writing the column "Of Facts and Fantasy" for some unknown reason was omitted in last week's issue. The Star apol- ogies to the writer, Mrs. Reta M. Berill for the mistake made. Brian and Dorothy Fulford entertained in their home eight employees and their wives to a turkey dinner. Gifts were given to each and a social time was enjoyed. Ron Redman as, Santa pre- sented Brian and Dorothy with a hostess server and flower urn. The hockey write up last week for the Tyke game had a error in the spelling of Sean Fewer. Sean netted five goals for Gulf in December 28th game. Mr. Bob Robertson here with the NHL Oldtimers Friday Night spent a few hours after the game at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Ireland and Mr. and Mrs. F.D. Slemmon. They were neighbours of Mr. Robertsons when he played with the Ottawa Senators over 15 years ago, and they had many happy times to talk over. Sunday visitors were Mr. and Mrs. A. Darby, and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Walker of Terrace, B.C. With a winter of icy streets, Mrs. Ingram deci- ded to retire from her position at the Library at the end of 1972. For over 30 years she has faithfully and cheer- fully served the towns peo- ple. Her pleasant personality always creating a friendly Entertained by Kinsmen A bus trip was arranged by the Port Perry Kinsmen Club again this year. We enjoyed the trip to Oshawa to view the Christmas lights and returned to Prince Albert Hall, sung carols and served a lovely lunch pre- pared by the Kinettes. Some of the members were able to attend the hockey game through the generosity of the Kinette Ladies. A Halloween party was held at the Hall in October, and an afternoon of Bowling in November. The members also made place mats for the Nursing Home Residents in one of the craft meetings. The members all looked forward to the White Cross Christmas Party held in Simcoe Street Church Hall in Oshawa. We were enter- tained by some young dan- cers and Gordon Grills Orchestra played for singing and dancing. Refreshments were served by the Execu- tive Committee. Santa ar- rived with gifts for all. The Prince Albert U.C.W. prepared a Christmas luncheon and had gifts as well. The Group appreciate all the generosity of the folks in Port Perry and Uxbridge who made the Christmas Season so merry. Her many friends will have the. opportunity to wish her well in hér retirement, when the Library Board is having an afternoon tea in her honour in the Library on Wednesday, January 24th, from 2 to 5 p.m. Drop in anytime during those hours for a cup of tea. Greenbank News The Dept. of Agriculture and Food sponsored by the Woman's Institute will be starfing a course "Sewing with Knits" in the near future. If you are interested in taking this interesting course, please contact Mrs. Don Real, Mrs. Ken Rodd, Mrs. Frank Innis. Mr. D. Danby of Saintfield, a fireman with the North York Department will be guest speaker at the Wo- man's Institute meeting next Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Centennial Hall. Everyone welcome. A good crowd attended the euchre party® on Friday night, in spité of the cold weather. Mrs. P. Mitchell was the winner of the high prize, with Eva Stiniford taking second and Mrs. Ruth Till with the low. Mr. Frank Ferguson high gent, Mr. Hal Clark second and George McArthur low. Door prizes went to Mrs. Raymond Kerry and Frank Tavlor. The next euchre on Friday, January 19th at 8 o'clock. Everyone welcome. Mr. and Mrs. R. Baird and families were entertained at the home of their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Simmons on Saturday evening to honour Mr. and Mrs. Morley Parish on the occasion of their 25th. Wedding anni- versary. Please attend the annual congregational meeting next Monday, January 15th at 8 p.m. in the church. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice with Mr. Lacombe, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. N. Elson moved to Uxbridge on Saturday. Allen Donneral.and Harry Vale are holidaying in the sunny south for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hoover and family visited and Mrs. Don Donneral on Sunday.
