PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Jan. 24th, 1973 -- 9 Sunderland man heads Farm Safety The annual meeting of the Ontario County Farm Safety Council was held in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Board Room, Ux- Lridge, on Thursday, Jan- uary 4, at 2:00 p.m. The projects, carried out mn 1972, were reviewed. These projects included a Farm and Home Safety Poster Competition with ru- ral school pupils. In this competition, 329 posters were received, and prize money amounting to $197 was paid out. During the month of June, 4-H club farm safety exhibit was set up at Beaverton Fair. One thousand ball point pens were given out to farm people in the County. Six thousand farm safety ser- viettes were also distributed to farm organizations in Ontario County. The Ontario County Farm Safety Council was suppor- ted financially in 1972 by grants from agri-business, the Province of Ontario, the- Ontario County Federati¢n of Agriculture, and the Townships in the County. The projects planned for 1973 will b e similar to those carried out ip 1972.
