Of this total 39,605 are detached: 4,540 attached; 9.880 are apartments or flats and 55 are mobile homes. Statistics report that Northumberland County has 14,090 homes. Of this total 11,245 are detached, 1,015 attached, 1,725 are apart- ments or nats, and 110 are mobile homes Durham County has a total of 13,280 homes; 10,740 are detached, 940 attached, 1,545 are apartments of flats and 60 are mobile homes. Any dwelling in which the number of people exceeds the number of rooms occu- pied is classified as crowded, said the report. Ontario County has 3,575 crowded dwellings; North- umberland has 845 and Durham has 925. i Ontario County has 52,555 omes with running hot and WMS Presbyterial meets in Lindsay The annual meeting of Lindsay Presbyterial W.M.S. of the Presbyterian Church in Canada was held in St. Andrews Church, Lindsay on Wednesday, January 17th, 1973. The theme for the day was "Th light of the world". The meeting opened at 10 am. and was constituted with prayer by the president Mrs. Harold Windrem. The morning devotions were taken by Mrs. McLeod, Mrs. Luke and Mrs. McInnis Lindsay W.M.S. from John, Chapter 8. A warm welcome was brought to Presbyterial by Mrs. C. McInnis of Lindsay W.M.S. The various reports of the secretaries were given and commented on by Miss Dorothy Keller, area re- source person. The morning session closed with prayer by Mrs. Windrem of Lindsay W.M.S. A dinner was served and at this time Rev. O.G. Locke O.P.P. Reports The Whitby detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police patrols the Port Perry area and all parts of southern Ontario County with the exception of those towns which have their own police departments. Here is the Whitby O.P.P. statistics for the week of January 22 - 28. Thirty-one traffic accidents injured 12 people and caused $25,000 damage. There were 7 thefts report- ted, 3 break and enters, 3 disturbances, 3 charges of impaired driving were laid, and there were threeviola- tions of the Liquor Control Act. Mrs. Garvin brought a very inspiring message based on the theme 'Let your light 'so shine betore men' by "Letting His light shine into our hearts." From their experience in Taiwan Mrs. Garvin proved how great things come from small beginnings, where there is faith and love. The financial report was then presented by the treas- urer, Mrs. Clark Fennell. It was a very gratifying report as the 1972 objective had been exceeded. Uxbridge W.M.S. have offered to hold the summer rally. Tentative plans were made for an Executive meeting at South Eldon in March. The Annual Synodical meeting will be__held in Peterboro in April. The delegate will be from Cress- well, Cannington, Port Perry and Uxbridge. The officers for 1973 were installed by Miss Keller Miss Keller spoke briefly concerning the future changes in the W.M.S. con- cept. She also outlined the literature that might be of help to W.M.S. groups and also the Childrens groups. The nominating commit- tee for 1973 will be Felenlon Falls, Glenarm and Lindsay.
