Miss Helen Lee of Whitby, Terry Howsam and Janet Carnegie of Port Perry were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lee on the weekend. Mrs. Ivan Spencer spent the weekend with her daugh- ter Mrs. Norman Bird ot West Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Phoe- nix were dinner guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Clark of Leaskdale. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Spencer on the birth of a grand-daguhter, a wee girl for Mr. and Mrs. David Spencer of Canning- ton. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Neil Hunter and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hunter attended the wedding of their neice at Listowel. World Day of Prayer. World Day of Prayer is a family affair. It will be held Friday March 2nd at 2 p.m. in the Greenbank Church for the Greenbank Seagrave Congregation. The theme this year is Alert in Our Times. Mr. James Gibson of Uxbridge will be the guest speaker. Greenbank U.C.W. The Afternoon U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. Howard McMillan on January 7th with 20 members and 7 visitors present. Mrs. Bea- ton, convenor of group gave the call to worship followed by a poem on '"'Hope". Mr Diamond read the scripture followed by prayer by Mrs. Beare, We then enjoyed some lovely music by Mrs. Jarvis, Mrs. Irvin and Miss Yeo. the topic was taken by Mrs. Aleta Leask who in- troduced the study book on India which was very inter- esting. Stear- man were with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kerry for the week- and Mrs. Herman end. They also visited other relatives in the area. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Asling visited Dr. Pat Asling and Ivan on Sunday evening. Mrs. Keith Ashton, Mr. and Mrs. Don Asling and Mrs. Aslings two sisters visited Dr. Jerrold and Mrs. Asling one day recently. Tuesday evening the Bible study groups will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Asling. Friday evening the young adult group will meet at the home of Ron and Larraine Brown at 8 p.m. Friday, March 2nd World's Day of Prayer will be held in the Baptist Church, Ux- bridge at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker Mrs. L.J.
