It was obvious from the drop of the puck that Port Perry would have to beat the referees as well as the Brighton team. Brighton came on real strong in the first period and Bennett score late in the first period. The Gulf boys missed several good chances but like the following two periods were -usually playing short- handed. Despite the bad calls the Port boys came out flying in the second to score three unanswered goals. Dale scoring. Ricky Chinpbell scored on a find effort with the assist going to Bob Bill Jeffrey scored his second of the right and Cal Cochrane picked up the assist. Bob Young finished off the scoring with assists going to Campbell and Prosser. Port Perry's fourth and sixth goals were scored while Brighton had a man advantage, this just showed that the Gulf Boys never let down and kept on digging. The penalties were 18 for Port and 11 for Brighton. The Grieves Gulf Juven- iles now take on the Unionville Juveniles in the House League (continued Francis and Fellows kept Flamingoes well in the lead. Ashmore, Wallace and Gould talied for rank. In the 2nd playoff game Club annrene defeated Tripp Const. by a score of 2-0. Van Weston and Fransen scored for Club Annrene. Bantam In the first Bantam playoff game Haines Esso and MLM fought to a 2 - 2 draw. Van Shagen and Beare scored for Haines while Hall and Kristenson retaliated for MLM. In the 2nd playoff game the Legion team slipped by Emmerson Insurance with a 3 - 2 victory. Krognenberg scored a single while Van p.m. Frank Redl Estate loss their second playoff game to Flamingo Pastries by a close score of 4 - 3. Hamilton scored a double with singles by Flieler and the winning single goal scored by Fellows. Gould Ashmore and Taylor talied for Frank. Federal money for winter works still available Norm Cafik announced in Ottawa that application forms for Winter Capital Projects Fund will be mailed to all municipalities by the Provincial Coordinator to- Morrow. The Federal Government through the Winter Capital Projects Fund will make loans available to provinces and municipalities up to May 31st, 1975. A two part incentive feature will help both to stimulate new programs and concentrate work in the winter months. 1. Half of the on-site labour costs incurred before the end of the program (May 31, 1975) will be deducted or forgiven' from the amount' (2) The other half of the on-site labour costs will be forgiven if incurred during December 1 to May 31 periods so that in effect grants will cover 100 percent of on-site labour costs during the winter. Loans from the fund may be employed recreation centres and sim- ilar priority projects. Although this program is aimed at the province and municipalities, individual groups might like to ap- proach their municipality with suggested projects.
