The end result this year was 6 to 5in favour of the fathers, but give those young lads another year on their backs and the result no doubt will be reversed. Durham curling champs Randy Henry skipped Oshawa's Durham College to the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association curling champ- ionship on the weekend, with a playoff 11 - 3 win over Rouyn-Noranda. The Durham rink with Henry at the helm, Willi Beaton at vice, Ralph Bridgeland at second and Mark Howsam at lead, had to stage a major comeback to win the title. Durham had a record of three wins and two losses, the same as the Rouyn squad, while Belleville's Loyalist College was unde- feated after five games and appeared to have the. title locked up. House League Pee Wee In the 1st playoff game between Stone Real Estate and Bolton Construction, Bolton Construction slipped by Stone Real Estate by a score of 4 - 3. Kane, Lunney, McCallum & Alexander scored singles for Bolton. Bower with a double and Percy with a single scored for Stone. In the 2nd playoff game between Club Annrene and Tripp Const., Tripp Const. slipped by Club Annrene with a 2 p 1 victory. Watson "and Smits got the goals for Tripp and Oxley talied for Club Annrene. Bantam Zering Pontiac Buick and Peels Chicks fought it out, but no dice, as the game ended in a 0 - 0 draw. MLM squeezed by Haines Esso with a 3 - 2 victory. The Port Pery Broomball Assoc. sent two teams to Colborne on Saturday, March 17 to take part in the annual tournament held by the Colborne Legion. Port Perry's "A" team defeated Cobourg "United Tire" 2 - 1. They defeated Kingston 2 - 1 in the second game. Both games were settled in overtime. In their third contest the 'A' team lost 3 - 0 to Peterborough Canucks. Port Perry's "B' team defeated Salem in the first Noise Zone Committee ° appointed Norm Cafik announced from Ottawa today the establishment of a Noise Zone Committee to look into anticipated problems affect- ing residents surrounding the new proposed Pickering Airport. The primary purpose of the Committee is to assist Mr. Cafik in arriving at a policy position which will minimize the adverse effect of the proposed airport on those who live in the noise zone area. Roger Conant, of Green- wood, will serve as Vice- Chairman of the Committee and assume the respon- sibilities of Chairman in Mr. Cafik's absence. The first meeting of the Committee will be Saturday, March 17, 1973, in Green- "Man, you've done some crazy things."
