Bantam *"C" championship on Tuesday, April 10 in Dresden by winning the best of five series, three games to one. The third game was 'won by Dresden in Port by a score of 4-3 The. Port team started very slowly in this game and 1 before they started playing the hockey they are capable of. The Dresden goalie played sup- urbly stopped Port on a number of excellent chances. Goal scorers for Port in their game were Dave Horton, John Scott and Mark Jobb. The championship was won in Dresden by a score of 7-1. The first and second periods of the game showed the score even at two goals a piece. Dale Bronson opened the scoring for Port assisted by Rick Campbell. Peterson tied the score just before the end of the first period. Lambeth went ahead early in the second on a goal by Shore but Port battled back with Dave Jackson scoring assisted by linemates Gary Shill and Don Phinney. The third period was all Lambeth as they scored three connective goals. It was Peterson, Shore and Varey making the final score 5 - 2 for Lambeth. The penalties were close in this game with Port taking seven and Lambeth 11. Lambeth led the series 2 games to 1 and set the stage for the fourth game in Port on Sunday, april 15th. Rick Campbell scored his first of the night assisted by Dale Bronson to tie the score at the end of the first period. The second period saw some excellent hockey and both goal tenders making some beautiful saves. While Lambeth had a man advant- age Dale Bronson passed to Rick Campbell who rushed the length of the ice and beat the Lambeth goalie. This goal seemed to fire up the Grieve's Gulf Juveniles as they come out flying in the third period. Rick Campbell scored his third of the night on a perfect pass from Gary LeFort. Campbell was 20 feet out from the net and as the puck hit his stick he fired and caught the Lambeth goalie napping. Varey scored again for Lambeth to make the score 3 - 2 for Port but Campbell wasn't finished his scoring yet.
