The ladies served lunch at the Geer sale on Thursday and wish to thank all who in anyway helped make their part successful. The only one was the auction sale at the Lloyd farm on Saturday afternoon. It was quite successful. Our U.C.W. served lunch while it lasted but that wasn't long enough. We extend sympathy this week to Mr. and Mrs. Ellesworth Kennedy becuase of the death of Mr. Ken- nedy's mother and also to the relatives and friends of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. Dregar of West Hill. Mrs. Phyllis Wray arrived home after a month's visit in B.C. and immediately star- ted entertaining. On Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Melville Sleep of Bowmanville arrived bringing Miss Ida Wray home. Other visitors that day were Mrs. Boutt and Mrs. Morrison of Oshawa and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Morrison and baby of Ottawa. Her son Allan Wray and a couple of lady friends came from Toronto for the weekend. Then on Sunday an old friend Mrs. Lucknow of Uxbridge paid a visit. Mrs. Susan Hammond has oeen enjoying a visit from her sister Mrs. Wilhelm from Maryland who will be returning home this week. We are glad to report Mr. Davis is at home again and feeling better. We don't get too much Harperville news as a rule but some turned up this week. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Roy of Tyrone spent Easter with Elsie's mother Mrs. Minnie Harper. On Saturday, other visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 'Herb Payne were Jerry and Linda Marcotte of + 0 Sudbury Frank and Dolores Pace of London, Ontario spent Easter weekend with Mr and Mrs. Dave Ashmore and family Last week Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fitze entertained Harry and Dorothy Wheeler of Bridgenorth. It seems that we can count the new editor of the Star as one of our citizens. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Arnold and their 4 children are now settled on the Cliff Harper farm. Mrs. Arnold is secretary of the Ontario Social® Credit League. Construction is in full swing. Mr. and Mrs. Don Wallace have made a small start on a new home down near the cedar swamp on the county road. From the number of trucks of cement heading east on the 12th concession we conclude that there is building in progress down by the lake. Mr. and Mrs. E. Hack have sold their home at the 12th corner and will be moving to Cresswell soon. They are planning a sale in June. Mr. and Mrs. Rutherford went to Oklahoma recently to get some horses but unfortunately connected with a hurricane in which their trailer was damaged so now they must wait until it is repaired before returning home.
