SECOND PLACE CHOIR These youngsters from Cartwright Central Public School at Blackstock came second in their catagory at the Kiwanis Music Festival in Peterborough recently. Myrtle Women's Institute hold meeting The April meeting of Myrtle Women's Institute was held in the Community Centre, on Wednesday eve- ning, April 18th, with the President, Mrs. Harry Lade in the chair. The meeting opened with the Insitute Ode, followed by the repitition of the Mary Stewart Collect in unison. Our Motto for the evening was 'Learning is for every- one." Roll Call was answered by: "What does 4-H mean to Parrott; Branch Directors Mrs. M. Hamilton, Mrs. A.C. McCulloch, Mrs. W. Bulley; Auditors Mrs. Arthur Par- rinder, Mrs. Robin Wilcox, Membership Committee Mrs. A.C. McCulloch; Mrs. E. Coates; Telephone Com- mittee Mrs. C. Harrison; Mrs. W. Bulley. Bulley. Conveners of Standing Committees. Agriculture and Canadian Industries Mrs. Eric Green; Citizenship and World Affairs Mrs. Arthur Par- rinder; Education and Cul- tural Activities Mrs. David Duchemin; Family and Con- sumer Affairs Mrs. Ted Jeffreys; Assistant Mrs. Larry Marquis; Resolutions Mrs. Harry Jagers; Mrs. Larry Marquis, Convener of Family and Consumer Affairs called on Mrs. Paudash and Mrs. Jeffreys, leaders of Myrtle 4-H Club, who commented on the Motto "Learning is for everyone' and had a display of some of the work the girls have done in the past along with their REcord Books. The girls from the Myrtle Cotton Kittens then modelled their dresses and pantsuits, and told the approximate cost of each. In appreciation of their efforts, the Institute voted a sum of * money towards their expenses in the way of rental for the use of the church basement. Voting Delegates appoin- ted for the District Annual are: Mrs. Harry Lade, Mrs. Walter Bulley and Mrs. Arthur Parrinder with Mrs. Eric Green and Mrs. A.C. McCulloch alternates. Mrs. Duchemin will act on the Courtesy Committee for Myrtle. A delicious lunch of fruit bread and cheese brought an interesting' evening to a class. you?" Since Myrtle 4-H Homemaking Club Girls and their Mothers were our guests, they also answered the roll call. Course for the coming year were discussed, and it was decided to ask for 'Baked in a Pie" for first choice with 'More on Sewing with Knits for our second choice. Members felt they would like "Poultry Please' for a Food Forum, and chose Bedroom and Bath for a Short Course. Standing Conveners pre- sented their reports. The Nominating Commit- tee of Mrs. Duchemin and Mrs. Hamilton presented their report.
