All business is recorded by the : Clerk of Port Perry who attends all decision making 3 meetings. Any major decisions are referredr back : to the municipal councils for their approval Any new venture can always have some ques- tionable aspects, and can only be corrected by time However, we have been willing to listen to any suggestions that would improve the Labor and operating costs are the Committee's main concern; but it is your tax dollar that makes it possible for you to have a place to discard your At a recent meeting the Committee decided to have the site open six days a week from the first day of June until the end of October, and the hours to remain the same 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We thank you for your co-operation this past year and hope conditions will continue to improve. Remember you have a share in the property; there- fore it is each and everyone's responsibility. There has been .considerable material blowing off of trucks & trailers which only blows on to some other property; please try and cover your load so this will not happen. Your Committee is not interested in enforcing rigid controls at the present time; however your willingness to co-oper- ate will save the taxpayers dollars, and just re- member that a few can only spoil it for the many. Port Perry, Reach and Scugog Sanitary Landfill Committee. " By Dave Ballingall On Sunday, April 29th the Grieves Gulf Juveniles travelled to Lambeth for the seventh and deciding game for the All Ontario Championship. Lambeth opened the scor- «Ing in the first period with two goals while Port was playing short handed. Port narrowed the score to 2-1 in the second and both teams missed some fine op- portunities. - The score remained 2-1 for Lambeth until the 10 minute mark of the third period when they scored again. The Gulf boys start. ed to put on some pressure but the referees clamped down on Port and called several unnecessary calls. As a result Port lost their cool and playing most of the last ten minutes two men short, Lambeth scored three more goals to make the final score 6-1 for Lam- beth. : It was great to see such a large crowd from Port Perry at the game and the boy# really appreciated the fan support. Congratulations are in order for a job well done by these boys of the Grieves Gulf Juveniles for Crib - a - thon Kinsmen and Kinettes from Port Perry pushed a three foot doll in a crib all the way from Honey's corner to Lindsay in 5 hours and 15 minutes last Saturday to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. They averaged just under five miles per hour for the 25 mile trip to finish second behind Peterborough in the race. Port Perry won the award for the best crib. This is the second year in a row that Port Perry Kins and Kinettes have worked in relay teams to raise money for fibrosis in this way. When the pledges are all in it is expected that between $300 and $400 will have been earned by the Port Perry Club alone to battle the cruel crippler of small children. Standing: Chuck Willes, Allan Reid, Pat Thompson, Dave Irvine. at the start of the hockey season few people gave the team a chance of even making the play-offs. The performance of the team has left little doubt in anybody's mind after the last series with Lambeth that went the full seven games, and that next to Lambeth in Ontario the Gulf Juveniles are #1. Congratulations boys. The members of the team this year were: Ken David- son and Keith Fraser goal; Cal Cochrane, Bill Jeffrey, Jamie McNab, Dale Bron- son, Rick Campbell, Gary Le Fort, Don Phinney, Gary Shill and Dave Jackson, forwards; Bob Young, Ron Evans, Larry Jackson, Rick Prosser and Bob Stevens, defence.
