The W.I. held their May meeting at the home of Mrs Orvan Brethour, several of the ladies who took the sewing class were there to model or show the garments they had made. There was a plant exchange. Plans were made for our annual Picnic for the community. Mrs. Pat MacMillan tried to teach us about the Metric' System which will soon re- place our present method I think she found an interes- ted but non -- mathematical: group -- I plan just accept, not try to cenvert to this system. The June meeting will be at the home of Mrs. C. Robb -- 4th Wed. in June. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Sanderson took a trip to Ottawa and North Bay re- cently. New museum proposed The Central Ontario Mu- seums Association plans to establish a regional arch- ives for the proposed new region east of Metropolitan Toronto. The association was founded in 1970 on initiative of the Lake Scugog. His- torical Society and meets 'three times a year in Feb- ruary, May and November. Provincial treasurer John White has told the as- sociation the matter of a regional archives will be taken into consideration while planning the new re- gion. Representative of mu- seums in Whitby, Oshawa "and Bowmanville are mem- bers of the association, which is one of the first of its kind in the province. The association is also planning to order post cards to be sold at the various museums showing buildings and permanent displays. S L L A Little Britain teams enjoy trip to Madison Heights Little Britain minor hoc- key teams last weekend paid a return visit to Madison Heights, Michigan, where their corresponding hockey teams played five exhibition games with the host teams. The hosts clubs this time however had a little extra up their sleeves when the visitors were treated .to a ten-inning professinal base- ball game by Detroit Tigers Sunday afternoon. The Little Britain teams were either trying to be good guests or the Madison teams were gentle hosts as the Wedding Bradford -- Greene The wedding of Sheila Elizabeth Bradford to Charles Ian Greene took place in Edmonton, Alberta, May 19th. The groom is the only son of Dr. Charles Greene and the late Mrs. Greene, Innis- fail, Alberta. The couple are honeymooning on the west coast. They will take up resi- dence in Toronto in Sept- ember. Hospital Spring Fair A spring fair at the Pres- byterian Church May 26 earned about $750. for the hospital. The fair was or- ganized by the 75 member hospital auxilliary group. The total raised was about $200 more than sim- ilar fairs have earned in previous years and auxil- iary president Eleanor Da- vidson expressed apprecia- tion to all the individuals and groups who helped make this a success.
