PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, May 30th, 1973 -- 11 Install Legion and Auxiliary executives Michael Hlozan was re- elected president of Branch 419 of the Royal Canadian Legion Sunday afternoon. Seven candidates were nominated, but when five declined the contest was to be between Jack Cook, past president and- Mr. Hlozan who received the majority of ballots. Elected first vice presi- dent was Al Wackett in contest with a former presi- dent of the branch, Ed Mulholland. When all candidates, except Ray Bishop declined nomination, he was given the second vice president's postion by acclamation. Vic Chilton was acclaim- ed to the postion of third vice president when 11 other candidates declined nomination. Elected to the executive committee were the follo- wing: Ed Mason, Marie Nightingale, John Barton, Ivan Hawes and Jack Lee. Re-elected Sgt. At-Arms by acclamation was Frank Harris. The positions of treasurer and secretary now held by Ed Mulholland and Clare Nightingale respectively will be made by appoint- ment at a later date.
