Both sides agreed and now they all live "happily on Scugog Island. 'Museum opening Attracts 200 people Scugog Shores Museum opened on Sunday, May 20 with about 200 visitors. There have since been another 50 so that atten- dance is now well above that of last year when there were 1,800 visitors in the season. A big difference has been the opening of the Lee House on the museum grounds. The two rooms decorated this year by the museum staff have been praised by all visitors. The house has been restored to a turn of the century decor, although the house itself was built in 1860. As older display artifacts become available, the period of the house will be ante-dated. Mrs. Jean Vidwell the vice-president of the Lake Scugog Historical Society welcome guests and pro- claimed the Lee House open. Guests on the first tour were the men who had ridden the house on its move from Greenbank a year ago. Six cars from the Oshawa and Bowmanville Antique Car Club added an interest- ing dimension to the after- noon. It is hoped that they will return again-later this year. This year's displays in the museum itself are perhaps the most interes- ting that they have ever been. The mem- bers have participat&d in Music Festivals during 1972 -- 73 in such places as Toronto 'East, Peterboro and Oshawa. The conscientious effort and hard work put forth by the students was evident in* the Toronto East Music Fes- tival of November, 1972 when they received G.W. Porter Trophy for the best choir in the entire festival - attaining a mark of 86 from renowned teacher and musician, Helen Simmie. In April, we participated in 3 classes at the Peterboro Kiwanis Music Festival where we received two firsts and a second. Recently we completed our competition at the Oshawa Kiwanis Festival attaining an A rating from Giles Bryant: of Toronto.
