We were pleased to have Rev. George Moore, Uxbridge, as our visiting minister. It was nice to have Rev. and Mrs. Black join us for this service. The Ladies Bible Class met at the home of Mrs. Clarence Harrison, on Tuesday evening, with 19 ladies present. Mrs. Routley opened the meeting with a call to worship followed by a reading, "Father's Works." Hymn 140 was sung. Scripture reading was read by Mrs. D. Ashton, reading from Joshua 24: 1-15. Mrs. Routley's med- itation was titled '"The Sha- dow of a Man." Prayer was led by Mrs. H. Ashton. A humourous reading 'What is a Family" was given by Mrs. Routley. The offering was received. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Correspon- dence was read. Visiting report was given by Mrs. Wm. Gardner. Mrs. Robt. Young,Brookl- lin, was our guest speaker for the evening, and showed us slides of her trip to the British Isles this spring, which included some pic- tures of some of the out- standing churches in Eng land and Scotland. Hymn 708 brought our meeting to a close. Miss Chrissie Simpson closed with prayer. Mrs. E. Heron thanked our hostess for her kind hospit- ality. A number of ladies atten- ded the Summer Rally of OME SHOW -- pecial for the pair HARDWARE the Women's Missionary Society, at Uxbridge, on Wednesday. About 85 ladies were present at the after- noon session. Rev. Locke, Lindsay, showed slides of his trip to the Holy Land at the evening meeting. The Chicken Barbeque will be held on Saturday of this week, at the church hall. Time 5:30 p.m. This is the Sunday School and the Community Centre effort. Robert Stanfield in Oshawa Federal Opposition Leader Robert Stanfield visited Oshawa, June 13 as the guest of the city's Chamber of Commerce. The Progressive Conserv- ative leader had no sooner landed in the city before Poticary sold him a one dollar ticket for the Fanfare for Osnawa celebration, which led Mr. Stanfield to comment that Oshawa cer- tainly lived up to its reputa- tion as "the action city."
