Scout Hall is getting a facelift Last winter when the re- port went out that scout hall was in need of repair. Scouter Paul Saulnier start- ing checking with the fed- eral government about a grant for the hall. Paul got in touch with Mr. Brock who also was trying for a grant. With the help of Paul and Bill and Dave Litt and M.P. Norm Cafik an opportunitie_ youth grant was obtained. The grant pays the salary for 8 youths for 10 weeks plus some -material. Scout Hall is already taking a pretty look and by August the town should have a nice clean building. Raw sewage into Scugog The Lindsay Post reported last week that it had been discovered that raw sewage from Lindsay's Colborne St. Sewage station had been leaking into the Scugog River for 'at least two days," and possibly more. The river empties into Lake Scugog. Lindsay's town engineer Godrey Saunders would not be specific about the amount of sewage which is going into the river and eventually the lake. time to come from church. Moss of Toronto and View Lake were entertained by their family at Guild, Tor- onto on Sunday evening July 1st to celebrate their 60th wedding aniversary. There were one hundred guests all immediate family Mr. and Mrs. Moss received many congratulations from friends. They were presen- ted with 60 red roses by the Mayor of Scarborough and a beautiful scroll from Premier Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Fred West, Sharron and Fred of Epsom were present. As Mr. and Mrs. Moss spend a lot of time with Mr. and Mrs. West they are quite well known here and their Epsom friends extend their congratulations wish- ing them many happy, gol- den years. Mrs. Pat Jackson and son Troy spent Sunday with psom and area Mom and Dad Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Chas Lyons and family of Omeeme vis- ited on Sunday with Mrs. Lyons and family. Miss Darlene Christie at- tended a Bridal shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Reid, Toronto on Saturday for newly-weds, Mr. and Mrs. Procunier, a grand son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lynde, Ashburn. Dr. Pat Asling and Ivan left to the Carribean on Sunday. Dr. Jerrold Asling, wife and family of Hanover visited his parents for the week end. On Monday Dr. Jerrold Asling visited his grand parents at Fairview Lodge in Whibty and found them feeling much better. Visitors on wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ashton were Mrs. Clara Beatty, Mrs. Minnie White of Cannington and their sis- ter Mrs. Flo Bingham of Part Land, Oregon and Mr. Harold Kerry of Argyle. Miss Olive MacGrfegor enjoyed dinner also at her brother's home with there cousins they lovingly call the "Sellars girls." PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, July 4th, 1973 -- 5 Sunday afternoon Mr. and mrs. Ashton visited Miss Vera Prentice and Mr. John Webster in Uxbridge Hospi- tal. Speedy recovery to these friends of ours. In the evening after church Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Wagner and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Wagner, Rhonda and the newest member of the family Ian visited Mr. and Mrs. Ashton. lan was cele- brating a birthday. He was one week old. Mr. and Mrs. Barry Bus- hell are visiting Grandma Bushell in Owen Sound. Miss Kim Brown visited with her friends Miss Linda and Miss Lori Bushell. One day last week Mr. Donald Smith of Oshawa and his mother Mrs. Roy Smith called on Mrs. Cawker. Mr. and mrs. Wm. Hug- gins of Orillia and Miss Alvena Jeffery of London visited Sunday with Mr. and M rs. Gordon Jeffery. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bol- ton and family have arrived : home from a holiday in Western Canada. The Card family were home on Monday. On" Sun- day Mr. and Mrs. A.Card attended the Benn's picnic in Uxbridge. Mr. Floyd Wilson is councillor at Bible Club Camp at Omeeme for the next two and a half weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wil- son called on her brother Rupert Lee and Mrs. Lee in Port Perry. Mr. Lee is still experiencing some difficul- ties with his knee. On Sunday, Dr. Jerrold Asling and Mrs. Asling went to Lakeview Lodge to visit Joan's grandmother Mrs. Terry. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thornton of Port Perry called to see Mrs. Cawker on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Card of Goodwood were at church on sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Watson and returned for lunch. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wat- son of Ajax thought mother and father would be pretty tired. They came for supper bringing barbecue chicken. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Watson were busy helping son Andrew to move.
