------ THE TORONTO '5 U')p] synDICATE Ricky is shy with strangers but managed to muster up a little smile for the photographer. Among people he knows he is cheerful and contented, usually easy going and with just an occasional outburst of temper when things don't go his way. Ricky is four, Anglo-Saxon in origin. Short and stocky, he has Aight brown hair, blue eyes and fair skin. Ricky's health is good, with only the odd attack of tonsilitis to bother him. He is active in play, loves to dance and manages to . invent satisfying games for himself when nobody else is around. Ricky always watches Sesame Street and enjoys TV cartoons. He plays a good deal with small cars, making the appropriate sounds. Though he's a sturdy boy, Ricky's mental development is behind the average for his age and he will need special education. It is hoped an adopting family will be found where Ricky will find loving warmth and where he will be able to develop at his own pace. To inquire about adopting Ricky, please write to Today's Child, Box 888, Station K, Toronto MiP 2H2. For general adoption information, please contact your local Children's Aid Society. : YEOH Lo Kd HE'S CHEERFUL AND HEALTHY Youngest fiddler at | Bobcayge Four year old Kathy Reed from Sudbury, Ontrario was the youngest fiddler amongst the 12 contestants in the "under 16 class" at Bobcaygeon's "Kawartha Lakes - Ontario Open" Fiddle Contest in 1972. V.D. on the increase In the quarterly report of the Oshawa Ontario County Medical Officer of Health, released this week, it is pointed out that - veneral disease in the county is not under control, despite improved reporting and treatment methods. The health unit has deci- ded to set up a temporary V.D. clinic in Oshawa later this summer. The report points out that Gonorrhoea increased 138.6 percent between 1971 and 1972, and Syphilis increased 275 percent during the same year. Although the increase not may indicate more cases of the disease as much as it indicates improved reporting of case, the report says no noticeable decline in V.D. has occurred in 1973.
