First Mrs. Edna Pearcey had her son Frank and his son Edward to visit her on Monday, August 6, also her son George Pearcey and his wife and family came for a weekend visit with her. They are from Preston, we hope she had a pleasant weekend. Mrs. Merrick had her two stepsons to visit her from Toronto one day last week, she celebrated her 91st- birthday on Sunday, 12th. Mrs. McHanly visits her every day and we're sorry to say that she is not im- proving. We can only wish her all the best. Many of the nurses have been on vacation but the chores of the Home have gone on as usual. Credit due to the remaining nurses on duty. The Bingo game on Thursday and was ladies night again, Mesdames Macky, Christie, Hender- son, Truckle, and Clark all winning one game each. Mr. Christie who won 3 games. The men were Mr. Ham- ilton and Mr. Abbott, Mr. Lloyd called the numbers and we had the regular ladies to help out. Mrs. Potts was trans- ferred to Hospital, Friday, 17th. We all wish her well. Supervisor Mrs. G. D'Andrade is away on sick leave. We all wish her a speedy recovery and return to the home. Mr. Hamilton was away on Saturday, 18th. His brother came for him. He should return by evening. Once again we had our Bingo night and once again it was ladies night. The winners being Mrs. Truckle, 3, Mrs. Pearcey, Mrs. Crooks and Mrs. Mackie. The men were Mr. Snowden and Mr. Moroz. Mr. J. Doupe, Mrs. Pearcey and Mrs. M. Clark went out for a few hours on Sunday with relatives or friends.
