The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Maeck of South River and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Whitter of Port Perry. The church was decorated for the occasion with bou- quets of carnations, baby's breath and fern. Rev. Lloyd Hoover offic- iated at the ceremony, and Mrs. A. Murdock played the wedding music. The bride given in mar- riage by her father, was lovely in a floor length gown of sheer polyester over taf- feta with a round yoke with covered buttons, high waist- ed and a deep flounce near the bottom trimmed with french lace. The full gath- hered long sleeves had wide french lace cuffs with a wedding ring collar. She wore a rose headpiece and a floor length hooded cape of net trimmed with matching french lace. Her bouquet was a nosegay of red roses with .a crescent of white roses and fern inserted with a ribbon cascade. Liz Meanchoff was the maid of hobour, and Paula Shearer, Wendy Mihalyi and Sandy Heinonen were the bridesmaids and Dawn Maeck was the flower girl. All wore identical blue swiss dot over taffeta with short puffed sleeves, empire waisted and a wide flounce trimmed with white braid, with square necklines and white accessories. They carried nosegays of red, blue and white carnations with fern and white stream- ers. Doug Scott of Port Perry was the best man and Leo Donnelly, Ron Whitter, bro- ther of the groom and Peter Maeck, brother of the bride were the ushers. Master David Meloy was the ring bearer. A reception followed at Caswell's Hotel, Sundridge and later a dance with music by the Rhythm Knights. Receiving the bride's mother wore a full length mauve floral gown with high waist and V neck frilled with a flounce, with fitted sleeves with a flounce, white accessories and a corsage of white rosebuds. She was assisted by the groom's mother, who chose a full length blue flowered gown and long full sleeves and scoop neckline, white accessories, and a corsage of white rosebuds. Leaving on a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the bride travelled in a burgundy A-line street length dress with printed bodice and full printed sleves, white aces- sories and an orchid cor- sage. The organist was the bride's former music teacher Mrs. Gladys Thompson and the soloist was Leanne Dorrell, sister of the bride, who was accompanied by the organ- ist and by guitarist Don Wright. The bride, given in mar- riage by her father, wore an original gown of ribbon- threaded Nottingham lace. The fitted basque bodice was complemented by a Victorian neckline and long fitted sleeves. The softly gathered demi-bell skirt was edged with lace scal- lops. The bride's rolled brim lace Victorian cha- peau was enhanced by a fall of tulle illusion veiling. She carried a long-stemmed single rose. The maid of honour, Miss Port Perry, Ontario. Out of town guests atten- ded the wedding from Port Perry, Toronto, oshawa, Sundridge, Mattawa and South River. Prior to the wedding the bride was the guest of honour at five bridal showers. . The fitted sol- id bodice in turquoise was enhanced by a Victorian neckline and full Victorian sleeves complemented by pearl buttons. The brides- maids, the bride's three sisters, Leanne, Heather, and Janis Dorrell, wore similar gowns with mauve fitted bodice. They carried white baskets of mauve daisies and mums, white carnations, cornflower and baby's breath. The best man was the groom's friend, Mr. Pat O'Rourke of Burlington and the ushers were Mr. Bruce Dickson, brother of the groom, Mr. Terry lewis and Mr. Larry Bonus friends of the groom from Burlington. The reception and dance was held in the Holiday Inn, Oshawa where the bride's mother received guests in an arctic blue silk chiffon gown with matching blouson jacket trimmed with peau- de-soie. Matching flowers graced her small bag. The groom's mother assisted in receiving in a formal - length mauve gown wearing a corsage of shaded mauves and pinks. The groom is an employee of Westinghouse in Hamil- ton and the bride, a teacher for Halton County Board of Education in Oakville. The couple will reside in Bur- lington. Prior to the wedding showers were given by Mrs. Ivan Mountjoy, Mrs. James Marlow, Mrs. Ray Essery and Mrs. Lee Steeves. A presentation was made by the teachers and students from her classes of Grand- view Public School, Bethany. A Jack and Jill shower was given in- Burlington by the groom"s neighbours, Mr. and Mrs.' Joe Fink. A trousseau tea was held at the home of the bride's mother prior to the wedding.
