JF. PL Vines Pl Nestleton. Caesarea and area news It is pleasant to know that "our" newspaper, the Star, is back in the swing of things. I for one, missed the local news. We trust that Mr. Hvidsten and staff enjoyed their well earned vacation. There is an old adage, "better late than never" so I. on behalf of the com- munity wish to extend a prayer for the best that life has to offer our recently wed young people, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce D. Williamson, nee Karen Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Campbell of Nestleton. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Law- rence, formerly of the country store in Nestleton, attended the ball game, Port Perry vs. Nestleton, the other evening. It was pleasant visiting with Jim and Helen again. Young Tom is still freelancing and Martha, now married, is residing in Windsor, Ont. I sincrely hope that by the time this issue reaches you, that Mrs. G. Bowers has regained complete use of her fractured wrist. The two boys involved in the accident in which Mr. R. Gobkes was also a victim, are doing fine. Chris Sharpe of Caesarea, suffe- red minor injuries. Winston Cay, also of Caesarea had extensive lacerations to his face. There is a possibility that he will require plastic surgery in the future, but at present Winston feels grate- ful to be alive and com- paratively well, as do the others. Our deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs. John Brady and also to Mr. and Mrs. C. Werner of Caesa- rea. On Monday, Aug. 6. Mr. Brady passed away as did Mr. Werner's father. May God in His infinite mercy, comfort these fami- lies in this, their hour of SOrTOW. A hearty thank you is expressed to Muriel and Jack Morgan for the party given for the Regatta com- mittee. This, by all reports, was a welcome break in the melee that precedes this annual event. Please keep in mind the annual Regatta meeting is being held at Putsey park on Sept. 2nd at 2 p.m. Try and attend this meeting as new officers are to be elected. This is our Regatta, enjoyed each year and participated in by the entire area, not just Caesa- rea. If anyone wishes to place a member of their particular area in office, attend this meeting and you will be given the opportun- ity. There is an extreme amount of planning etc. involved in this annual event. Diligence, consis- tency, and patience are intermingled with the love of your fellow man if you become involved with the Regatta committee. We all look forward to the Regata each year. Our children eagerly prepare for it, as do we adults. So let us meet at Putsey Park on September 2nd. and make certain that we know just what is involved. This is eur community and what occurs in it should most certainly be of interest to all of us. Many of you are familiar with the entire procedure, but it has been pointed out to me that as many are not. In the event of rain, the meeting shall be held on the 9th. of Sept. same time and place. The Bowan family have taken up resisdence in Lindsay. I trust that the E. But remember Mom . . . soon . | far to soon, these little ones shall be young adults and making plans of their own. I will personally guarantee wished to the Bob Parkers, who have been on a lovely trip to the U.S. and enjoyed a stay at the beautious Cape Cod. Film feature producedindistrict Many of our readers are unaware that movie is at present being produced in our immediate area. On a one hundred and eighty acre site in the Enfield area, which has been pur- chased by Canuker Studios, an authentic Ukranian vil- lage nestles. The buildings are not merely fronts but complete houses, sheds etc. and were constructed by a local carpenter, Mr. G. Hood, at an approximate cost of $70,000., four years ago. The film is entitled Marichka and stars 'Audrey Chudoba and George Yemec and Leonid Oleksiuk. The movie depicts life in a Ukranian mountain village at the turn of the century. Among the '"'extras' in this love triangle, are Mr. Ralph Raines of Port Perry and Mr. Gord Hay .of the Triple G. Stables at R. R. No. 2, Blackstock. This film requires humid dry weather for it's pro- duction and with the weather that we have been having recently, should be completed by early Septem- ber. The most spectacular scene is to be filmed before a huge bonfire at night. Singing and dancing for this scene will be by members of the Kalyna Dancers, Ukranian National Federation and the Promo- tej Ukranian Choir. The production cost of the film is in the excess of $250.000. Other countries such as Australia, South America and many more have shown C.F.P. films in Europe. The Canadian Film Industry has a terrific time trying to show "pictures in Canada that were produced here. In a Florida studio filmed a horror movie at the same site as Marichka. This movie shall be shown in the near future and quite possi- bly in Canada. Walter Wasik said that he shall keep trying and we wish him and the fledgling Cana- dian film Industry all the luck in the world. Enjoy pig roast On Saturday evening a pig roast was held at the Triple G. Stables with an one hundred adults and many, many children. Among the guests were the stars and crew of Canukr studios. An evening of games for the children was enjoyed by all the little ones after which a huge meal and gooey marshmallows slowed them up enough for baby sitters to take home and tuck them in for the night. Music and dancing then prevailed until the small hours of the morning.
