Anderson this week- end. Sept. next Plowing match near Alvinston Sept. 25 The International Plowing Match" moves this year to Lambton County, near Alvinston, on the J.D. Mec- Gugan farm and several neighboring acreages. There will be over 600 acres of land used for plowing, parking, tractor park, tent city, air- port runway and field demonstrations. The first International was run in 1913 and with the exception of the war years, has moved from county to county each year since. The 1973 Match is to be officially opened by His excellency, Governor- General Michener on Sept. 25. The ten city covers 100 acres with over 300 exhibi- tors. This is one of the largest farm exhibitions in the world. Fifty food cater- ers will look after the visi- tors. Tractor and horse drawn plowing contestants will be going after $20,000 in prize money. There are 37 classes and over 700 competitors, in addition to special classes. The special events include a quarter horse show, horseshoe pitching, antique shows and sheep herding. Successful jr. plow match at Claremont On Tuesday, August 28th, 1973 a joint Junior Plowing Match for North and South Ontario was held at the farm of Messrs. Murray and Don Dunkeld, R. R. No. 2, . Claremont. This joint Junior Plowing Match was spon- sored by the Brooklin and Port Perry Junior Farmers, and the North and South Ontario Plowmen's Associations. Mr. Raymond Montague, Jarvis Ontario, was the official coach and judge for the competition. The com- petitors - was coached on correct plow adjustment and how to start and finish their lands. The purpose of the Junior Plowing Match is to give the Junior Plowmen and opportunity to receive in- struction on plowing, and proper plow adjustments; and to encourage their par- ticipation in the senior matches. The winners in the class for boys and girls 15 years and under, who had plowed in competition before were; 1st Gregg Timbers, Sand- ford, Ont. 2. Van Wezzel officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence J.H. Bryant of Ashburn. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. Gabriel Grabowski and the late Marion Grabowski of Port Perry. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of veniee lace with nylon organza frill and madavin collar, long full sleeves of nylon organza with wide cuff of venice lace. 'A satin flower trimmed with pear stems held her shoulder length bouffant illusion veil. She matron of honor. Brides- maids were Mrs. Shirley Snider and Miss Muriel Bryant, all sisters of the bride. Rod Grabowski, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Murray Young, uncle of the groom and Danny Grabowski brother of the groom. The reception took place at the Utica Community Hall.
