LS .4 wouldn't be surprised if that call the "Lee House" home. The Canadian Iris Society published a news letter, and while glancing through the July letter I see where a bus load of 50 persons from Richmond Hill toured dif- ferent gardens during the Ray Vernon and family from Cannington were dinner guests on Sunday at IF. Vernon, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Holiday and Mr. and Mrs. Currier all of Toronto also visited Mr. and Mrs. F. Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Hillier was their son and wife Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hillier of Detroit, and their granddaughter and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mordin of North Scugog Museum has had a face lift this summer thanks to an OFY grant and four ener- getic young men. Rick Appleton, Keith Ellicott, Dave Litt and Jim Taylor, all local boys, spent their summer painting and repairing the head church, old school house which is now the museum and the I.ee House. The boys were quite pain- staking in the work they did, old log cabin is up by this fall too." The boys spent sevgral hours dismantling and marking an authentic log cabin in Manvers Township. The building was donated by Jim Lawrence. The Bowerman boat built in the early 1920's was restored and brightly painted. It rests on an old rig also resently refinished by the boys. The boys fixed. the old tin roof to look like new. Renewing coats of paint were applied to the houses' exterior and also to the church. : In general we are very grateful. We would have been no where near so far or without their help. With volunteer labour its hard to get big jobs done."stated a Museum Board spokesman "but this has been a real , Iris season.
