Celebrate golden anniversary On August 15th, 1973, Myrtle and Hector Hodgins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. To help them in their celebrations, their family arranged an open-house on Wednesday, August 15th at their home in Prince Albert. 76 friends and family were served a delightful tea. The waitresses, charmingly dressed in summer gowns, were all former students of Mrs. Hodgins nursery school. ' Then, on Saturday, August 18th, 82 guests attended a luncheon party held in the parlor of the Prince Albert United Church. The meal was catered by the Prince Albert U.C.W. a delicious turkey cold plate topped off with angel food cake with lemon sauce. Mr. Don Miller, a nephew of Mr. Hodgins, acted as Master of Ceremonies for the occasion and spoke most eloquently of the guests of honour. After lunch the "bride and groom' went from guest to guest handing out small pieces of "wedding cake" wrapped with gold bows and each with a gold ring, as mementos of the day.
