News of interest from the Utica area «om sn him2t The regular church ser- vices of the B.U.GL.E. pastoral charge of the United Church will be held on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Goodwood at 10:00 a.m, and at Ballantrae at 11:30 a.m. Utica Sunday School meets at 10:15 a.m. The Couples Club will be holding its first fall event on Friday, Sept. 29. The Blood Donor Clinic, sponsored by the Port Perry Kinettes and Kinsmen will be held in the Port Perry United Church Hall on Oct. 4 from 1:30 to 4:30 and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sincere sympathy is extended to Miss Ada Stephenson of Port Perry in the recent bereavement of her sister, Miss Clarentia Stephenson of Toronto; to Mrs. Malcolm Randall and family of Uxbridge in the bereavement of Mr. Malcolm Randall Sr.; and to Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Wat- son and family of Port Perry in the bereavement of their uncle, Mr. James Hains- worth. Mrs. Mitchell called on Mrs. Frank Crosier of Port Perry _ on Thursday and spent Sun- day with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Gray. Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn MacCannell and Miss Jewel MacCannell attended the Greeves -- MacCannel wedding in Toronto on Fri- day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Slack and family, Miss Doreen Bill and Mr. Doug Geer were Sunday visitors with Mr and Mrs. Murray Geer. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Geer spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Butson of Port Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Armour McMillan were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bailey. Mrs. W.W. Scott of Toronto spent Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Crosier and visited Mrs. Bruce Beare in hospi- tal at Port Perry. Prize winners at the euchre in the hall on Friday evening were Ruby Tripp, Mrs. Reid Cook, Jessie Foote and Andy Monroe, Tom Ogden and Russel Pilkey. Freeze-out winners were Erma Watson and Ernie Luke, first, and Vera Brown and George Harper, second. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Of all the passenger cars involved in collisions in Ontario last year, almost seven thousand were in need of some type of mechanical repair or com- ponent replacement.
