Packing for travelling was neatly demonstrated by Mrs. Mahaffy. Together we discussed invitations with Mrs. Williams. Peanut Butter cookies were made -memory of Samuel and served. John Horton Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mc Laughlin and Mr. and Mrs. Harold McLaughlin spent the weekend at the Plowing Match at Alvinston and as guests of Mr. and Mrs. *Edwin Brown and family at North Street, Michigan. On Sunday they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hillock and girls at Jeddo, Michigan. Roy and Harold pitched horseshoes at the Plowing Match and played exceptionally well as they won all games and lost only two points. Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hoskin on the passing of Sandra's mother in Lindsay on Sunday evening. . Several from this area attended the Bobcaygeon Fair on Saturday. Congratu- lations to Mrs. Walter Wright who many prizes on her exhibits as well as to our regular exhibitors who showed there and at other Fairs on the weekend. No doubt Blackstock was well represented at the Markham Fair too. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Archer, Mr. Jim Archer and Miss Massey, Whitby, Mr. and Mrs. Don Fleming, Janice and Pamela, Oshawa were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Archer. Better health is wished for our hospital patients which include Mrs. Wall and Mr. Norman - Green Perry Hospital and Mrs. Courtney Graham ~ in Oshawa Hospital. Winners at the Senior Citizens Card Party were Ladies' High A. Jolie, Sec- ond - Grace Bradley, Third - Josie Waldensperger; Men's High - Earl Prescott, Second - Percy VanCamp, Third Gerald Mahon. On Sunday a special ser- vice was held at the St. John's Anglican Church when the new organ in Mc Laughlin and his wife the former Elizabeth Polan was dedicated. The commemora- 'tive plaque was read by Mrs. McLaughlin - Forder's in Port: sister, Mrs. James Robert- son of Unity, Saskatche- wan. The beautiful new organ was given by the McLaughlin, Taylor and Polan families. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Webb and Paul, Wooler were Sunday afternoon and evening guests of her brother Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Asselstine and fam- ily. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Dorrell were Mr. Urban Ryan, Charlton, Miss Leanne Dorrell and friend Mr. Jim Wills, Guelph University, Miss Heather Dorell of Western University, London, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dickson, Burlington. Recent callers of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bryans and family were Mrs. Virginia Fairey, Lorrie and David, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Hanc and Tracy of Bowmanville, Mrs. Wendy Killens and David, Mr. Wilf Brown of Courtice. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bryans and family visited Mr. and Mrs. George Bryans and boys, Cameron, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bryans of Courtice. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Beacock and Bob have moved into their home beside their hardware and Garage. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Water« of Kennelworth were Tuesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Malcolm and family. On Saturday evening a good crowd attended the community held in the Recreation Centre in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dickson - (Nancy Dorrell).
