Rankin -- Cannon Port Perry United Church was the setting for a lovely wedding on June 9, 1973, when Jacqualine Cannon became the bride of Raymond Rankin. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvyn Cannon of Port Perry. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Rankin also of Port Perry. The Reverend W. Mark Reeves officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Eva Hunter supplied the wedding music. The bride given in marriage by her father wore a long A line gown of polyester peau, re-embroid- ered Alencon lace bodice and front pleat. A head piece of seed pearl sprays and lace clusters was held by a finger tip veil of nylon bouffant. She carried a bouquet of yellow sweet- heart roses accented with blue daisies to compliment her attendants gowns. The bride's sister Miss Laura Cannon was maid of honour. Jackie's brides- maids were Miss Nancy Spence, friend of the bride and Miss Susan Rankin sis- ter of the groom. The bride's attendants wore identical gowns of blue polyester with white trim and white floppy-brimmed hats. Their bouquets con- sisted of yellow daisies. Attending the groom as best man was Mr. Ken Rankin, brother of the groom. The ushers were Mr. Jim Rankin, brother of the groom and Mr. Kevin Cannon brother of the bride. The groom and his aten- dants wore black tuxedos. Their boutineres wore white carnations. A reception and dance was held at the Port Perry Legion Hall, following which the happy couple left for a honeymoon trip to Ottawa and points east. Jackie and Ray are now residing in Oshawa. Clements recently. -- OBITUARY --- Sydney Roy Kendell Funeral services were held in Campbellford, Thursday for Sydney Roy Kendell, formerly of Port Perry, who passed away September 24 at his home in Hastings. He was 59. Sydnedy Roy Kendell was born in Cardiff, Wales, the son of the late Sydney Kendell and the late, former Sarah Gibbons. He leaves his wife, the former Wenda Fralick, sons Trevor of Blackstock and Morgan of Hastings and daughters Rhonda of Lindsay, Maureen of Hastihgs, Bronwen (Mrs. Dean Keating) of Havelock and Kathleen of Port Hope. He has two sisters; Mrs. Kate Miles of Eastbourne, Sussex, England and Mrs. Annie Mears of Cardiff, Wales. Sydney Roy Kendell lived in Port Perry before moving to Hastings 6 years ago.
