Our busy time will come next week when the Turkey Dinner takes place. There will be, we expect, an abundance of all the foods we have been serving in past years, including the pie and : plum - pudding desserts. "Firs{ come first served" is the rule and the ladies expect to be all ready to go at 4 o'clock on Wednesday, Nov. 7th. We expect Mrs. McNeil will be in her usual place selling small home- made articles. We were rather startled to hear on Monday of the deaths of two persons havy- ing connections with this community. Mr. Murvin NOW ISTHE TIME TO ORDER YOUR WINTER FUEL When cable does be- come i LA ios expected that the French television station will also be available here. Port Perry 4-H meeting Meeting No. 6 was held on October 23rd at Miss Dadd's home. The president opened the meethig with the 4-H pledge. Sharon read the minutes. We discussed the Achievement Day. Patsy was chosen to be our com- mentator.-We also discussed "Decorative Vegetables." All the girls were to make Stone who spent the greater part of his life here passed away after a short stay in Port Perry Hospital. His funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon. The other was Mrs. Arthur Hammond of Oshawa who 'had suffered a long illness in Oshawa Hospital. We extend sympathy to "their friends and relatives. Hospital news isn't very charming this week. We can now report Mrs. Davis is able to be at home again. Dale Billings and Don Bea- cock each made brief visits there but are home again also. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Short attended a dinner and dance on Saturday night in honour of Mrs. Tanton who is retir- ing from Flamingo Pas- tries. Apparently most folks preferred to stay al home on Sunday to watch the horse race or the Liberal Conven- tion. There were a couple of exceptions, however, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Mitchell of Galt (Cambridge 'to be correct) spent the week end at the B. Wanamaker home. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Carr and girls were back home at Eden attending the church anniversary there. We expect a profusion of spring bloom at the church next season. Some Hi-C members planted the bulbs on Saturday. Weather conditions (per- haps) kept the attendance at services here. S.S. at 11 as lower than usual. Next week Greenbankers will be having their church anniversary so no 10 o'clock services here. S.S. at 11 as ususal.
