v A WA ~ Ry . SLs ofa NAMES Mr. and Mrs, Ken Gallo- way of Willowdale, visited Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Michell of Scugog Island last week. There is nothing unusual about this visit except that Ken and Ed both graduated from Woodstock College in 1921, and after both covering Quebec and Ontario did not see each other during those 52 years. Despite the inclement weather last Saturday, a large crowd turned out to the Bazaar and Tea and the Anglican Parish Hall. Due to all the co-operation it was indeed a success. On Friday evening, Nov- ember 23, about seventy-five members and friends of St. John's Presbyterian Church gathered for a family night. A pot luck supper was en- joyed. A sing-song of old favourites followed, with Mr. Norman Watson leading the fun. The Junior choir enter- tained with a few selections. The highlight of the evening were slides depicting the recent trip of Mr. and Mrs. M.B. Dymond to Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Hong-Kong and Japan. Mrs. Dymond commented amusingly on some of their adventures. The evening closed with a hymn and prayer. : David C. Collier was elec- ted President, General Man- ager and a Director by the board of directors of General Motors of Canada Limited meeting in Oshawa Correction In our last edition we incorrectly indicated that the Toronto-Port Perry- Lindsay bus route through Manchester would soon be discontinued. The fact is that no change in that run is planned. The Toronto-Oshawa Port Perry- Lindsay route mentioned in our story is a new service, and will operate in addition the existing services.
